Hi Everyone! I've been on for over 10 years. I've completed a oneshot story and working on various projects when I have free time.
I have a BA in English and currently teach English
/Language Arts at a high school level. I have decided that being a betareader would definitely be a good exercise for me during the summer.
I'm most certainly more of a content betareader. I'm not shy to tell you what I think is trash and what makes people cringe. However, I feel with feedback even a bad story can develop into something it's author can be proud of.
SPELLING And GRAMMAR! I'm always going back and correcting mistakes in my own stories, it has become one of my strengths when editing.
Things I expect from authors seeking my help:
1. I do have a teaching job and a part time SAT/ACT tutoring job. Therefore, I would expect any author, who wishes to utilize my service, to understand that sometimes it may take me a little longer to proofread then the the average editor.
I do promise to do so in a time period agreed upon.
2. I expect for the author to be honest in what they are looking for and to take my suggestions seriously. I may be very harsh sometimes, but I expect the author to understand I'm here to help them create a better story.
I would like to be aware from the beginning if they are hoping to write a indepth or a lighthearted story. Some stories are supposed to be just for fun and some are complex, therefore I need to know how to go about editing the story.
3. I expect you to check out my profile and stories, see how I've developed as an author and how I write. I may not fit your needs and if you make an effort to check out what I have to offer, you'll be able to determine on your own if you will benefit or not from my help.
I also hope that you will message me for the same reason. All of my fanfiction was written for easy enjoyment, there are some genres/categories that I have not posted in because I feel it needs serious indepth writing (so I refuse to post until I have it well written) such as SOA, Dark Angel or Supernatural (of which I am working on a character right now)
4. I reserve the right at anytime to deny my services.
Thank you for viewing my profile. I hope that I fit your needs and that we can work together. Message me if you're interested or if you have more questions.
