|Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Let's see, I don't really ask much from you, only that you must know the whole layout of your story. I'm sorry, but I don't really want to proof read your story only to end up with it on hold or discontinued.
I am only available on Saturdays (mostly), so if you ask me any other day to beta read your story, there is a very high chance that I will not be able to reply until the Saturday comes.
Although I am born from Australia, I know that there is also the American way for spelling. I know this, because I used to attend an American school. So if you turn out to be American, I definitely will NOT change the spelling for you (unless you have a desire for me to, which you probably don't.
You must also note that if there is a speech, I use " instead of '. I tend to write thoughts in italics including the ' in it, just to make it easier to kowwho's talking and who's not, you know?
|My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Let's see . . . I really don't think that I'm good at anything. Maybe just that I'm good at spelling? I guess? I'm sorry, but I don't really know what I'm good at. I just type up a story and then that's that.
What people say I am pretty good at is humour. And not just ANY humour; wacky humour. Like, just the really random stuff that make you laugh anyway even though it's really whacked out.
|My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Okay. This is where I can seriously confess EVERYTHING I am not good at.
1. Ending a story - Yes, I am very horrible at ending a story. Which is why if you ask me to beta read your story, I would greatly appreciate it if you hav the plot laid out. And the ending is for you to figure out, because I don't think I can edit it for you without making it interesting. Sorry . . .
2. Romance. Oh, how bad I am with romance! You want proof about that? Please go ahead and read my supposedly "romantic" stories. They are really bad. Oh, and being as immature as I already am, I don't know how to write those kissing moments. I mean, I'm currently trying to type up things like that, but they don't turn out good.
3. Angst, tragedy and hurt/comfort are the three genres that I am also not very good at. I mean, I will try if you really want me to beta read those types of stories, but trust me, I am NOT GOOD at it. Just keep that in mind when you are wanting to ask me to become your beta reader.
4. Science fiction. Really, that genre . . . is hard. I don't know how else to describe it. Just . . . hard. Hard to beta read, hard to read and understand, hard to anything! Yeah . . .
|Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I'd definitely beta read humour, poetry, crime, mystery, adventure and friendship stories over any other! They are so fun to read and so I'd really enjoy reading something like this. So, yeah, I'm definitely open if you want me to beta read any of those listed genres!
Oh, and ANOTHER important thing: I would really prefer if you ask me to beta read T rated stories. K and K+ are okay, but I don't think I'm good at it. Oh, and M . . . I'm just not ready for that rating, I guess. I mean, I'm not confident enough to read that genre, so yeah . . .
|Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
M rated romance stories are a definite no, unless the romance isn't that heavy, which I highly doubt that it is. I'm sorry again, but I really don't think I'm mature enough to be beta reading heavy romance stories. Sorry . . . !
Hm, I don't mind poetry, but like, sometimes it can be hard. You see, poems come from YOU, and if you are asking someone else to beta read something that is being created by YOU, then . . . it's just not by you anymore. I guess the same goes with stories, but poems are just more . . . yeah. I hope you get it, because I don't know if this paragraph made sense . . . sigh . . .
