My Beta reading style is related to feelings and music. If it's something happy, I'll need to be in the mood to read something happy, so I'll need happy music. If you have a song in it, I'll look it up and listen to it. It's a great way of finding music, though!
I expect any author requesting my services to respect my opinions and suggestions, if you don't like the suggestion, just don't use it, don't start being mean and nasty over it, it's just a suggestion. I also expect the the author to be willing to have disagreements if they have views that are different from mine, except for grammar and typo errors, because really, how can you disagree with something that is or isn't correct?
If you're only looking for compliments, I'm not your Beta reader. I can be a bit blunt sometimes, but any criticism will be toned down -not sugar-coated- so if you don't deal with criticism well, it won't hurt your feelings or make anyone with low self-esteems feel like the suck at writing. I will never give anyone anything closely related to a flame. If you have writer's block and need some help, I'll help with that too if I can come up with any ideas.
If you are interested in me beta reading a story, send me a PM through the site messaging service, explaining a bit about who you are, what your story is about (especially how long you think it is going to be) and requesting that I look at your story. There are times when I can't take on any more stories, don't have enough time for them, or when I can't take on things other than one-shots-I do this in my spare time and to have fun and strengthen my own writing skills, and sometimes real life gets in the way. You also might want to tell me any pairings.
I also believe that a good writer must also be a good reader. Or in any case, reading good works can only help you improve. If you're not reading, chances are that it shows. In my personal opinion, good works do not include the Twilight series. Just don't send me a PM explaining why the Twilight books are awesome, or hate on me for disliking them.
I am not your spell-check program. Honest mistakes are one thing; laziness and unwillingness to work are another. So before you send me a chapter or one-shot, spell-check it or check it over yourself.
