|Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
For the most part when I beta-read, I concentrate on the writing style. I'll tell you where to cut down on description, add more description, cut out useless scenes, etc. I will also check for character consistency. My goal is to give critique that will help you make your story as intriguing as possible and keep your readers interested.I'll also correct grammar and spelling mistakes if needed. When giving critique, I try not to be either brutally honest nor overly nice. I will be as truthful as is helpful for your particular writing style and story.
|My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Grammar, spelling, editing your writing style for smoothness, cutting out unnecessary scenes that don't add to the story, character development, and spotting plot holes.
|My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I have a short attention span, which means I love to cut stuff out. The shorter, the better. The good news about this is, if *I* can read your story and not get bored, that means anyone can. I don't particularly enjoy romance fiction, and therefore probably won't be much help with writing romance scenes. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I'm often tempted to over-edit. If I go overboard, just tell me so, I'll reign myself in a little.
|Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I am very familiar with the Sherlock, White Collar, Warehouse 13, Avengers and Marvel in general, Leverage, Teen Wolf, Psych, Warriorcats, The A-Team (both movie and TV), Criminal Minds, NCIS, Person of Interest, Numb3rs, Star Wars, Supernatural, Merlin (BBC), Hawaii 5-0, The Musketeers (BBC), and Star Trek (TOS, TNG, VOY, and MovieAU) fandoms. I'll beta-read almost any fandom though, so long as I've seen/read it. I also happen to love the hurt/comfort and angst genres. And bromance.
|Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I won't beta-read stories that are centered around adult romance, and I'd rather not beta romance-focused stories.
