|Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta reader I focus in plot holes, timeline, proper flow and development of the story and plot twist. I like to work in a orderly fashion, keep record of every change for further reference and interacting closely with the author to keep myself involve. For this purpose, I use Google Drive. If you don't have a Gmail account we can work through e-mail, but it would be slower. In either case I will need to be able to talk to you through chat (Hangout, Skype or any other one that is easy to use) so we can talk easily and interchange ideas. If you want me help you contact me by PM, but don't worry if I don't replay right away. Please include in what exactly you want me to help you, what kind of fanfic you like to read, the type of fanfics that you usually write or imagine, what's the plot for the story, pairings and the twist in your idea. Every story must have a twist to make it unique and I must know what it is to see if I'm able to help you. If you don't have a twist, or don't even know in what direction your fanfic is going to take, I can have an possible idea to where it will go with your preferences. My job is to help you create an awesome story, we'll make it work somehow.
|My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
One simple word: plot. I like to think in new possible stories every day, of how one idea can grow into a full story with all its twist and turns that keep the reader waiting for more. I just need an starting point and from there I can help you create a wonderful story. Also, I'm really picky with the flow and tempo of the story, keeping the development in track so it won't go too slow or too fast (this depends of the pace that you want to achieve).
|My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Grammar and spell. My native language is Spanish and even if I know English since I was a kid and I have been working in a bilingual company for four years, I don't feel confidence enough to help someone else in that area. But still, if I found something out of place I will point it out. Also, while is not my weakest point, I admit that the characterization of the original characters is not my strongest point either.
|Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
This would be one of the most complicated plots to do right: Self-insert, crossover, what-ifs and time travelling. I love fanfics where a character knows what is going to happen and want to change it (self-insert, time travelling), but I also like it when the original story changes because of one variable (what ifs, crossover). I'm haven't work much with AU, but is not impossible. Following that, I prefer adventure and humor with or without romance. In the love department I prefer canon pairings or characters that in the original story don't have a partner. I don't mind OC, but I usually can only stand them as main character when is a self-insert. Also, I usually like a light hearted fanfic to mild drama, if it's too heavy and dark it won't inspire me.
|Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Yaoi and angst. There, I say it! As I stated before I like the cannon pairing, so if the original couple is yaoi or the character without a pairing is or could possibly be gay, is all fine for me. In the other hand, I can't stand too much angst and drama in one single story. The same thing could be if the fanfic is purely romance, but simply because I'm not that good in that area. And let's not forget a crack fic, simply because they don't even have a plot to start with.
