I'm a creative writing major, and I love to read and write. I've been reading and writing for quite a while, and I like ALMOST everything (of course, I'll clue you in on that a little bit later...I did say 'almost'...). If you want me to go over something, that's great! I'm not necessarily the sunshine and daisies type, though. I can be very critical, but I try to balance things out, and I want you and your readers to get the most out of your works.
If you send me anything, please send it in a word document...but try to avoid saving it as docx (Microsoft Office 2007 is the devil, and my computer will not be able to open it). You can send your stuff through email as an attachment, as long as I can open it and it doesn't show up as Wing Dings we'll be great. IF you send me anything, please make it a readable font. You know the type: times, arial, verdana...nothing that will make my head hurt, please? :D
That said, if you send me anything, expect a lot of comments. I am a big fan of constructive criticism. If I like your story, I'll let you know. If I don't, you'll know then, too. I like to comment on everything. Literally. Flow, characterization, plot, dialogue...I try not to leave anything out. If I make comments, which I will, they will be very specific. Like I said, I want both you and your readers to get the most out of your work, and I'll do my best to make sure that happens.
Please, for the love of all things that are good in the world, do not send me something that will make the little grammar monkey in my head explode. Proofread your work before you send it to me. If you didn't, I'll be able to tell, and it will make me sad. Very sad. If English is not your first language, that is fine. Just let me know. I'll still be more than willing to help you out. But if English is your first language, please be mindful of that when you send your work. It's a big pet-peeve of mine.
