|Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I tend to be open to Beta-reading any of the couples listed in my profile, especially Loliver, Jiley, Sidekicks, Lit, and Zennies. I won't edit Lackson, sorry can't do it. I tend to be better with comic/fluffy pieces than angst because I basically reserve my angst/anger for my personal life. I wouldn't ask me to be your Beta if you can't take direct constructive criticism though, I'll sugarcoat in a review, not in a story. My apologies. I can do strictly grammar/structure/spelling or I can give you feedback on how to improve your chapter creatively. Your choice. Other couples/friends I will definitely edit for are Leyton, Naley, Laley, Peyton/Jake, Eric/Jackie, Shane/Mitchie, Nate/Tess, Nate/Caitlyn, Nate/Mitchie, Dasey, Jalex, Blate, Dair, Dan/Serena, Nate/Jenny, Dan/Vannessa, Luke/Lorelai, Emily/Richard, Rory/Tristan, Draco/Ginny, Luna/Harry, etc.
|My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm very well-read, and I notice every little if, and, or but that's out of place, and I definitely notice awkwardness in flow. Plot is also big for me, I won't read a pointless, boring story. I also tend to be good at realizing when a someone is OOC immediately, and correcting it. If you need words, I've got a thousand replacements. I'm like a human theasarus. If a story doesn't flow well, it's awkward to read it. A badly-connected story can be worse than a straight-out horrible one. My favorite noun is doughnut. My favorite verb is smirk. My favorite adjective is cocky. Just so you get an idea.
|My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Despite being able to do the above and correct spelling in addition, I tend to be unable to do a lot of it in my own writing. My chapters can get repetitive, and I definitely use the words smile, grin, and smirk too much. So I may need you to stop me from making all the characters in the story grin like idiots. Besides that, I'm pretty good.
|Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I like comic pieces. I think being able to laugh at someone or with someone is a key ingredient of falling in love with them. I also think there are other necessary ingredients, like denial, chemistry, and angst before you can get to a happy ending. That is if there is a happy ending. I also like a little flirt-fighting, which is probably why I favor love/hate over anything else. Also, that's how I tend to fall for people, so you know. I don't mind rape or violence, I'm not squeamish and I know it's important to get those perspectives out there to protect other people from it.
|Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I do not like over the top romance. What is so romantic about the characters just falling into each others' arms and confessing their long hidden love? Nothing. Anyone can have that story. And its so over-used in all the couples I read. It is my biggest pet peeve ever. Give us some plot. If you ask me to Beta a story like that, I probably won't even give you a response.
