This is a project for English class. I rewrote the ending. Jay Gatsby didn't die. Nick Carraway saved his life. Of course not without his own sacrifice though. Terrible summary, but I hope you enjoy! Read and review!

Mint Juleps by Nicholas Carraway
This piece takes place just before the climax of the novel, after Daisy has told Gatsby she loves him "with her eyes" and before Tom reveals that Gatsby is a bootlegger. I chose to write about this section of the novel because I thought there was a lot of room here to slow down and draw more attention to Jordan, who is Nick's fixation throughout most of the novel.

Fate never intended a happy fate for Daisy Buchanan and James Gatz no matter the time period. A horribly written intake on their lives had it been set in the 1940's instead of the Roaring 20's.

Such Beautiful Dreams (look at how they fall as tears from your eyes) by AneRiam
Your childish innocence lets you lose yourself within your fantasies for a while. But you grow up, you learn, and reality grabs those dreams and compares them to real life and then thrusts them back at you, mockingly. Shoving them restlessly in your face, because real life is harsh, real life is cold, and fantasies don't exist in this world.
