A story I wrote a long while ago exploring Sean Lord Derry's mysterious past. It's a bit of an embarrassing piece of fantasy romance, complete with bad dialect (I was young!) but I thought I'd put the first few chapters out there; I'll post the rest if there's any interest.

This story is mostly set during the Deryni persecutions under the Custodes Fidei in the year 918. Yet even in those dark times, there were people who risked their lives in order to save as many Deryni as they could. Some were not even Deryni themselves, but were motivated by their love for all mankind, despite their differences. This is a tale of some of those unsung heroes.

I tried to keep the violence in this story muted to strong T rather than crossing into M-hopefully I succeeded.

Jashana Arilan, niece to Bishop Denis Arilan, is presented with an unexpected offer from Michael, the High Lord of Llyr. Slightly AU take on the Deryni universe. (The island kingdom of Llyr was introduced in my earlier story Anamchara.)
