He ends up impressing the court so greatly that the king declared Alphinaud was to wed his eldest niece, a princess who is all but imprisoned within the castle. After all he has seen something in his mirror in the Tower he does not at all like, and he hopes him simply being there for his friend will help ease his burden. He can only hope it will be enough...

The road walked by the warrior of light is one of sorrow and trials, of enduring pain and despair so that hope may one day prevail. But what if, in her attempts to find an answer to the question, Hydaelyn miscalculated and the hero fell in a battle against the Angel of Truth before he fulfilled his purpose? Can someone else follow in his footsteps, or is the world fated to burn?

Note: This is a Final Fantasy XVI fanfiction. They didn't add FF16 category yet so that's why it's in the XIV tab. This follows the prologue of the demo but expanding on it and adding zombies. Zenos had made peace with his own demise after fighting alongside the Warrior of Light. Other plans have been laid out for him, however; when he reunites with the Warrior of Light once more, he recognizes this as his second chance. -aka the twisted redemption arc that no one (especially not me) asked for, starting nebulously around 6.2. Canon compliant before then. WoLxZenos.

Fourchenault would love to be closer to his children, but after so many years of focusing upon work in Labyrinthos, he knows not where to begin.
