A/U: Maria comes to the von Trapp villa much earlier than in the movie though she finds a similar situation-a grieving retired naval captain who is neglecting his seven children. As in the movie, she helps them all find each other again but there is still something else the Captain is hiding, and it has the potential to endanger them all.

Will the Captain ever be able to win Maria's heart? Or is her trust going to be a more elusive gift? Trigger Warning Inside !
