| pixieelegance chapter 3 . 8/6
Oh my gosh, I'm so dense! I can't believe it took me to partway through the third chapter to think of who the narrator is! Duh-WRITER! I was trying to think of everyone from all series and somehow he never even came to mind!

Everything I could write here is insufficient to express how wonderful this story is.
Every word, every scene, every dialogue is just brilliant.
Thank you so much for writing this masterpiece!

These descriptions were wonderful! I loved seeing how an outsider looked at the Vuager crew, but having it being Jake Sisko was a wonderful surprise! Thanks for sharing. You do "show not tell" quite well.

What a unique perspective to write from, I really enjoyed this. Thank you for writing!

Very pretty story. I loved all of the adjective lists and didn't realize who the writer was until you revealed his name. I did get goosebumps when Chakotay's advice so closely mirrored the advice he'll later get from his Dad and give to Melanie. Nicely done!
| Guest chapter 7 . 9/22/2014
What an enjoyable read. I never suspected that the narrator was Sisko's son. Good use of a crossover scenario. I still shake my head at TPTB pairing Chakotay and Seven. They had zero chemistry and nothing in common. J/C were meant to be together, they complement each other like two pieces in a puzzle.

Yes! I love crossover fan fic (or JC fanfic with a cameo, however you want to bill it), and you did justice to all of the characters! I admit the first chapter I thought we were in for a OC POW and that thought had me a little discouraged, but when I opened the second chapter and saw your A/N and knew by the end of the chapter who it was- that really kept me reading. Jake is not my favorite DS9 character, but I like how you portrayed him here.
| KJC-56 chapter 1 . 4/4/2014
That was good! Damn good! I need to admit that partially I forgot the underlying story. Because I was so eager to find out the narrator's identity. I read, reread and still couldn't figure it out. It came to me as a complete surprise. Well done.
I also loved it very much how you put me in a rather melancholy and sad mood. Like the narrator I could see that something is terrible wrong.
Another great approach to a topic we all like so very much, Laura. Great work.

Thanks for spoilering what I assume is the end of DS9 in this fic... A warning would have been nice.
| JDB3100 chapter 7 . 2/28/2014
Lovely story. Really enjoyed it.
| StellaCartography chapter 2 . 2/10/2014
I need to say right now, he is the perfect neutral observer for this. Best use of that character.
It's hard as J/C shippers not to dismiss C/7 out of hand, not to wave it away with a "Well that was a mistake" or "And then they broke up" (not that here's anything with that). It's such a challenge to take that messed up relationship seriously as something that could happen. As of chapter 2, you have gone above and beyond, risen to the challenge and I applaud you for it. Brava!
| Vestal Virgin chapter 7 . 2/5/2014
A beautifully written and intimate look at lifelong love and choices. Well done!
