I like the irony of Roy being her ideal but not being like she expected and Gilbert being the other way around. This story is good! I don't know how in character it is for Gil to give a massive speech (although it was beautiful) but I can totally imagine him doing the other things. Ahhh, my shipper heart is happy :)

What a delightful story! I only read the first three books this year as an 18 year old, even though they've been on my reading list since I was 11. I love the books to death, but the lack of actual romance left me a bit empty. This story was written in the spirit of the author herself, and it satisfied my wish for intamancy between Anne and Gilbert. Your writing is perfect, truly in her style, which made this story so endearing to me. Congrats on writing Anne, Phil, Gil, Marilla, Mrs. Lyde, and Davvy perfectly. Thank you for writing this gem! Everything was perfect, and that's all I'll say. Writing out my favorite parts would just take much too long, since the whole thing was amazing.

I know you wrote this over a year ago, but i just found your charming story yesterday. I have been an avid fan of all things Anne since middle school. I simply loved your interpretation of Gilbert and Anne. It was clear from reading this that you truly knew and loved the characters. There wasn't a time when was reading it saying, Anne would never say that or Gilbert would never do that. You kept true to their characters, not an easy task. I stayed up well past the point of decency finishing your story. Thank you for taking the time to write it. I very much appreciated the romance (I always wished the original had a bit more), but in still keeping with the modestly one would expect from our beloved characters. I think LMM would be proud:)
Anyhow, I don't often post reviews I really appreciated a touching twist on a childhood favorite. Well done!

Wow! Great story, I adored the Matthew and the mistake references quite a lot. Gilbert's proposal was so wonderful and romantic.

Gilbert is amazing, love how his role in Anne's family is shown. I liked Davy and Mrs Lynde and Marilla, nice to see some side character's views. Gilbert and Anne's dance was wonderful
