Very unique story idea! I wasn't sure at the beginning but I've enjoyed it, and I hope you finish it!

"mercenary companies"

Didn't get much of an impression of that in early chapters. I suppose it might be plausible, just not e CV explicitly emphasized...mainly for Harry, with many "soldiers" seeming to be armies of countries/governments.

Huh, isn't of course, but coulda been like a retroactive band aid deflecting my c9 review.

"My world's version of wizards don't take kindly when a dark being suddenly decides he knows how the world ought to be run and starts putting people in graves because they won't listen to him..."

The above doesn't seem to fit the "my world" portrayed, which seemed more like a steampunk fantasy injected version of the last thousand years of never ending wars of "Europe' ("Europe": with dose of Ottoman, Mongolian etc).

Don't recall the amulet translator with name garbling humor, which I'd think, I'd recalled if read it before

I read some early chaps, before exiting similar fanfics. Ffnet a bitch on mobile, can be hard to get desktop view vs error messages. As is, can't see, if it exists, if the
not mobile ffnet summary references some crossover. Story seems similar to others I read a bit before exiting [there's the problem when one needs to KNOW the original tropes[fandom/canon-dom] to not have blurry uninformed read of a fanfiction that is based or a crossover with fictional world & trope one knows nothing about].
So I'm total ignorant of warring nations names, the armored weapons, etc, while assuming this fic didn't invent entire worldbuild in early chapters.

My only suggestion, which is useless unless this had huge rewrite or say, the author composes a similar fanfic in the future.

I thought could be interesting if the Harry character had greater interaction with one of the not-earth characters. Such as the female* warrior/commander? he currently was allied.

Option taken(with more in depth build of this female character*), of course, could be she is disillusioned* with her "life".
AND Harry returns to earth with a humanoid* "passenger".

*this asterisk marked character. Then would not too badly miss, her world she left behind, being transported to earth alongside Harry.

See if diction chosen, if "chagrin" conveys what you want to convey.[Moody, chagrin]

Awesome story. I was worried about how hilariously one sided this was gonin to be. Instead both the acknowledgement that warjacks can't win alone and that the politics will kill them if the death eaters don't has upped the stakes nicely.
That flash back at the end of this chapter was nicely done and echoed with a vet.
