![]() ![]() Hurrah! They are back together! Such sweet lovers. |
![]() ![]() ![]() When do we get to find out what's causing this? I've been reading the reviews, and I looked up what herbs might possibly cause miscarriages, but most of the herbs I looked at aren't likely candidates, either because a) they're native to North America, and wouldn't be as widely available in England at that time, and certainly not in a constant enough exposure to cause this problem for generations, or b) they were traditionally used either as aphrodisiacs or as abortifacients, and I have no idea why Elizabeth would be using them. I still think it's an environmental problem, something in the water or even in the soil. If it's in the soil, it's possible that the toxin is getting into the milk (via grass). I said earlier that the only environmental pollutants that could cause miscarriages at this time were lead or mercury; I don't think Elizabeth has mercury poisoning because her symptoms don't match up, but her symptoms do resemble lead poisoning. Also, at that time, lead was often used for plumbing, and it also was an ingredient in some cosmetics. Those are two other ways Elizabeth could have been exposed to it. The lack of similar symptoms throughout Pemberley is puzzling, but on the other hand, if it's just a residual environmental toxin, people can be exposed to it for years and not show obvious symptoms, but a developing fetus, especially in embryonic stage, would be vulnerable. Also, lead exposure can cause anemia, which can cause serious complications in a pregnancy. |

![]() ![]() ![]() So the cows were moved to this pasture and they are thinking about the herb garden being moved there. Elisabeth didn’t have milk in her tea but milk is used in so many food preparations but I am guessing it is the milk. The ground is contaminated or the cows are eating something they shouldn’t. xoxo |
