Elizabeth must really be afraid to snap at a trusted servant. I hope she opens up to Darcy soon, and doesn’t prolong everyone’s discomfort by trying to hide her struggle.

Ah, it feels so Darcy to entrust this difficult conversation to his female housekeeper, rather than broach it with Elizabeth directly. It’s a sad state of affairs, but believable given the era and the characters’ previous lack of ease communicating.

A good beginning! The characters feel like themselves, the prose feel appropriate but not overwrought, and the struggle is real. I like how much you leave unsaid. Certainly a better beginning than some professionally-published Austen fanfiction I’ve read. :)

That birthing scene was really well written. I hope you finish this story.

Wonderful story. I hope you finish it. I'm dying to know what it is about Pemberley that affects the pregnancies (though I suppose it is now irrelevant given that Elizabeth cannot have more children). I love your depiction of Elizabeth and Darcy's relationship and I love that your story is chock full of interaction between them.

I am convinced its a plant based problem. Either from the herbs in the garden or maybe something the cows eat/graze and is excreted in their milk. There are so mny possibilities for both!
