I love this oneshot.

I love the idea of Wave being the real true wake up call for Kakashi. That it was that mission that helped him to see the team as more then just kids that he was stuck with. I also like that while he would like nothing more then to just wrap his kids up in a blanket and keep them safe forever he knows that's not something he can do, so he makes the choice to train them up so that they can have each other's back.

I just really like this view into Kakashi's mindset during this moment in time. It's really great.

My personal favorite Naruto fanfic is a hurt/comfort oneshot. I love the ones where Team 7 finds out Kakashi’s fears and lonliness, or the ones where Sasuke finally breaks down, or the ones where Naruto sheds his mask and sheds a tear. The ones where Sakura’s powerful demeanor (at least in Shippuden onward, anways) crumbles and leaves a scared, broken girl who needs love. A story about Team 7 coming together and comforting each other in only a way they could. And it makes it all the better when it’s in a short, sweet oneshot. I also like time travel fanfics, but it’s hard to find a good one these days, haha.
