Really wouldn't blame Minato for kicking him out/killing him. He's very mother bear.

The idea of a wandering taijutsu master who Gai inherited his title and his technique from is a really interesting one!

I really loved how strongly Kakashi reacted to all this. The bits of pieces we get about Kakashi, so we can't quite piece together his thoughts but we definitely know the brunt of his feelings towards Gai and the wanderer and the gates, were so good! Kakashi has always had a really strong, negative reaction towards the gates ever since they were first introduced in the story, and I like the idea that that comes from a long-standing disagreement between Kakashi and Gai, specifically because the gates are ultimately a suicide technique and Kakashi has seen a lot of his loved ones die already. I really liked how Minato described Gai as one of the phew things keeping Kakashi sane -how true that'll be even more once Kakashi loses Minato too!

The fight between Gai and Kakashi was perfect and super engaging, and the talk Minato has where he tries so hard to dissuade Gai's new teacher for the sake of Kakashi's dwindling mental state was really cool! I ended up really liking the Yellow Beast in this.

This is one of the only things I've seen written about Gai or the Gates. To see that it is written about both is mind blowing so thank you. So much. I'm Sirius

Anyway, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading this one! I love your take on Gai's sensei and Minato's reaction to him. I'm really looking forward to whatever you'll write next!

Damn this is well written. I've been itching to write a story about Gai's past sensei. This just hit the hammer on the nail (exactly what I wanted, and then even better XD), and I really loved your portrayal of his sensei. A gruff wanderer with world experience who doesn;t mind the eccentricities of Gai, because he's a little off himself.

To some extent it always saddens me that we don't really get to learn more about Gai's history. On the other hand it's nice to have him as this strong rock, solid and firm that just kind let the world's problem wash over him with little effect. You don't need to know his history, because whatever it was, it probably didn't bug him much. Lol (Probably not true, but nice to think it)

Okay I'm boring you. This was really a great chapter, if you continue it: YES! If you don't this was perfect and pretty damn awesome, especially your interpretation of Gai just as a character.

Loved it to bits, and when I'm not too lazy I'll log in and fav it XD
