Hum it has a nice idea, the summery allows for a lot of growth, really what i would say is write a longer chapter something around 7-8 thousand words, so that people can get a starting point to really jump off on, establish the setting the characters and their relationship a little so that we get to know them. There is a lot of potential here all it needs is space and time to grow. I really suggest just sitting down in front of your laptop and putting on some music (try this one Song of Sanctuary by Karl jenkins), and just write what comes to your mind with the characters. Thats all i have done and my story is already longer than i ever thought it could be. Also it never hurts to take some time to describe the look of your characters. Also applies to the sword, i'm guessing its a big deal so go nuts and give alot of detail, make us want to own this thing. Besides that the wolf spirt is cool and i'm guessing it will look like the one from twilight. so give it that much weight, make its first appearance striking awesome. You have a really neat idea don't be afraid to let it go.

I think that Naruto should also possess a sword similar to kuraika or kuriaka could give Naruto power similar to the power he's given jim to help him keep up with Jim in search for his friend.
