I love this story! Great opening - love the AU beginning. Great job!

So Barty Crouch Jr persuaded the merpeople to sttack and kill the hostages and their would be rescuers. My only question is whether he Confounded them, or sweet talked them to believe that the eight students and one teacher were criminals to be executed.

And how did non-stasis Hermione and Krum Jr survive all that time underwater? Magic, yes.

Please carry on with this story. It’s been nearly a year.

The Ignore Hermione plot is again, drama for the sake of having drama there. Would be nice to see your proactive Dumbledore do something, but it’s only Sirius who tends to do anything.

Resolution to the Ron plot line seemed very anticlimactic…. He doesn’t get to walk away with the words he was spewing.

The “punishments” honestly feel like a letdown. There’s no tangible consequences to anything other than a prank that lasted seconds before it was cancelled.
