When I think back, it's possible that Garp knew that Luffy would become a pirate no matter what he did and that he would never be able to dissuade Luffy. He only trained him so that he wouldn't die while giving Sengoku a reason not to beat the shit out of him for training an aspiring pirate.

This entire chapter is just anime. You could delete this and I wouldn't even know the difference. Sad.

I really hope the rewrite for this never comes. I seriously can't believe that this was so popular. Canon rehashing, wish fulfilling, pointless harem, meaningless sex scenes, and many other countless tropes all rolled into one fic.

The last part is what I find hilarious though. Being give the romance tag/genre is one hell of an overstatement. There's no romance whatsoever. Just pointless sex scenes that have no build up or even lead to anything at all. Many of which are of Luffy banging some girl he never even met in canon. And the ones that are part of the crew are just fuck toys that are there for Luffy to use whenever he wishes and forgets about them after he's done.

Also, the expanded crew is absolutely useless. Why bother adding them in if you're going to follow canon down the almost the exact detail? Most of the time they're stranding around doing fuck-all as the real canon happens. Like in Nami vs Doublefinger, Nojiko's contributions basically do nothing as she's defeated the exact same way in the story. Same with the fight of Usopp and Chopper vs Mr 4 and Merry Christmas.

I could go on about everything that's bad about this, but I'm already fed up typing the above two things. Please let this be dead.

Ok, this Chapter both surprised and threw me off a bit at the same Time. Personally I never would've expected both Luffy & Nami to be together, I think he'll be much better with Vivi honestly. !

I know this is kinda random, but since you’re already rewriting this I decided I might as well put my two cents in. I recently came up with some ideas and thought of putting them in a fanfic just like this one, then I realized I could just try to get them into this fanfiction, so here goes. I thought of Vivi eating the Hair-hair fruit, a DF I came up with that’s really just your standard “hair weaponization” ability, allowing the user to grow, control, and harden their hair. This would give Vivi a DF that is very skill and creativity based, but I think it’s a great fit for her. The second thing I thought of is having Rebecca eat the Sword-Sword fruit, which allows the user to drastically increase their learning ability when it comes to sword techniques and even how a sword user uses haki. She would eat this fruit as a child, bide her time until she thinks that she might be able to overthrow Doflamingo, and would get a massive power up in Dressrosa because of the swordsman in the coliseum, Zoro and Kin’emon. Then she would join the crew. I hope you consider my ideas.

What the fuck? Luffy with his endpart skills and experience vs Crocodile in a fight would be over in 1-2 blows. If you write OP MC, you REALLY should not make him fuck up/weak just because of 'plot'
