This is so beautiful and powerful in its sadness. Imperfect perfection. Chuck learning to care. Learning he cares. Blair needing someone and getting his support while Nate and Serena goof off and never worry th it pretty little heads (not that I don't like them! I even think Serena is a good friend to Blair. Erm Nate isnt always tht good of a friend to Chuck. Or boyfriend to Blair. Or frind to Dan. Or anyone. He s nice but clueless

Oh gosh the feels I got from this chapter. This is truly a beautiful disaster. I literally have goosebumps on my flesh right now.

The way you convey both of their reactions and thoughts is beyond crazy good. I have to tell you that.
I was so happy to see a update on this story. And even more happier that I was so unbelievably heartbreaking too.

Its always been Chuck that's seen her. And I mean really seen her. Seen the broken girl, who constantly battled with her hate for herself inside. The girl with a fire and passion like no other. The doubtful girl who turned into the strong women. Its always been him there by her side. To build her up and make her believe she was better, she was so much more to him. Whether it be with just a look or a sexual innuendo, hug, or his words.

Your making me root for these two so much more. I always believe their friendship went further then what was shown on the show. It was clear they both held a certain level of respect for one another. And that to me meant a lot consider Chuck didn't seem to care for much of anyone. Especially when it came to women.

But again I cant wait to see the next update to the story. You really are just a beautiful writer!

I can't help but feel frustrated with Serena when I read things about blait's insecurties. Serena is just clueless and her physical appearance isn't her fault but still
also she isn't that clueless, she knows how Blair feels... but i guess she's already trying to help Blair and as Leighton once said Serena isn't the problem Shea just a part of it

This song reminds me of one of my fave chair scenes, the one in pret-a-poor-j

The last line was perfect
the perfect firat interaction for Blair and Chuck and i love that we got both POVS

They really are a lot alike and I like pre victor/Victrola dynamic and reading about them younger.
I really think it could have happened like that because in season 1 already Chuck seemed to be there for Blair when she needed to be (not in the best friend sense more in the the 'i 'll stand far away but still be there awkwardly if you ask' sense) and they tolerated the others fault and kind of could hang out together as they wished and smile and be flirty or mean or whatever they wanted

And it always fascinated me and I love this story

I can't exactly explain why but I've almost started to cry when I read about the Chafe first meeting.

In the show and just generally I'm always really really touched by everything resolving around Chuck and his youth and teenage days and how utterly alone he must have felt because he probably never fit in for many reasons

This is kind of the same for Blair but to a lesser extent because she's still the perfect society girl when you take the dark side out of the equation

And this is really funny how they befriended Nate and Serena who shine effortlessly and all.

So happy to find this post! I love your story, and I agree with other readers in that each post makes me want more and more. I like how you establishing the connection between Blair and Chuck so early in their lives. It just makes sense to me that their friendship would lead to that kind of connection as teens and adults.
