Usually, I'm not a fan of self-inserts, because they tend to be moronic Mary sues, but this story is an exception.

Haru uses his hindsight intelligently, and is reasonably powerful without breaking the suspension of belief. He manages to be cool without being a jerk, and is a really relatable character (speaking as a fangirl) I love how much time is spent on introspection and I really feel it helps the reader become immersed in the story. The dialogue is interesting and original,and the whole story is interesting and engaging.

That's what I like best about this story. It adds some very weird elements to the Naruto storyline whilst still keeping the story and the characters believable. No one is bashed unnecessarily, all the characters are treated fairly and kept reasonably in character (considering the changes they might undergo due to changes in the storyline.)

I can't really offer any negatives to the story, it's going pretty great so far. One piece of advice though: I'd keep the shipping subtle, too much can kill a great story.

However, overall this is a brilliant story! And I hope to find out more about Haru's mysterious past in later chapters!

I think you bring out Haru's desperation very well. He knows the shitstorm that's coming, he's desperate to get himself and his friends ready, and that desperation is making him hard. And now he's got Sakura to join the training group, which is cool.

Oh my god! I'm reading so many fanfictions it's all a mess in my head! :P But, it's still good; keep up the updates! So cool of you! :)

I give up. Haru has gone totally bat-shit insane.
Not only does he give Sasuke a scroll that can kill him (there is a reason why only Naruto can use shadow clones - high chakra cost and brain damage that only the Kyuubi healing factor protected him), but he is actually giving a revenge crazed Sasuke, who is a potential missing-nin that may or may end up helping the enemy, more power.
Please consider rewriting the last two chapters because Haru's character is spiraling out of control.
The last scene made no sense at all.

It seems unlikely that he'd leave en empty socket just on the off-chance that he feels like sticking a Sharingan in there.

What the hell, Haru? no seriously what the shit is he thinking here? He suddenly changes from "somewhat sane but slightly angry Haru" to "Future missing-nin Haru" in the span of a sentence. The blase attitude is fine, but the hell does he have against Sakura?

I don't understand what you are trying to do with this story anymore. It's getting way too confusing and angst ridden in the last few chapters. I hope you can clear it up in the next few chapters before it gets even more confusing.

So many things anyounde be by the last scene that I don;t know where to begin.
First, Please please don't turn Haru into an emo.
Why do fanfiction writers think that making character whine about what horrible people they are and why would anyone want to be their friend makes them appear 'deep'. In truth it's just annoying.
Haru is a great person and one of the best people to have for a friend. much better than the sakura/ino 'friendship' that broke apart over a fight over a boy

Sakura STOLE the sharringan from his house. Little girl or not, I would be furious at her for it. Even if she didn;t know it was the sharingan she knew she was stealling and just didnt care.
And WHY would Haru trust the sharringan to a immature 7 year old girl that hates him? One that he has to threaten to make her listen? Espicalliy since he need them now to replace one of his eyes.

I officially have no idea whats going on in Haru's head anymore. At first I could understand and admire his actions, but now his acting more and more like an irrational kid instead of a grown man in a kid's body that he is.
And to be honest the only reason that I can think of him not wanting the sharringan is for plot reasons, anyone else would have snatched it up immedently.

Please dont think of this as a flame. I really loved this story so far it's just that this chapter pissed the crap out of me for some reason.
