Awww! I never expected this, even though I probably should have. Naruto getting to find out about Ichiraku's early and getting a birthday present is just too sweet. I love Haru's character too! He's kind of hard to pin down right now, but I can definitely tell he's going to be stubborn. He's going to give his future teachers a good run for their money.

Everything about this story is laced with a creepy, freaky undertone. It's suffused with a vague sense that something is wrong - it's like reading a slow-motion nightmare.

That's really incredible and it's awesome how you managed that. I'm looking forward to where this goes.

I really love this story, especially your restraint in making your protagonist have a somewhat more realistic progression. I've even come around on the decisions to make Haru creepy and antagonistic towards young orphans. It makes the character more of an individual rather than a Gary Stu. I especially like your idea of an adult mind in a child's body to provide a focus on Genjutsu. I've had a similar analysis of this setup for a while now and am glad to see a story flesh out the concept.
But why did you have to do the looks like a girl thing? There are so few well written and conceived Naruto OC/self-inserts with a male protagonist. I know this is a pointless gripe, especially how far into the story you've gotten. In isolation it's a perfectly fine quirk. I just lament the decision in the context of finding one of the few male OC stories in an ocean of female inserts. Still really like the story though. Excellent work.

I have been on a Naruto SI binging journey for the past week or so, and I can say without lying this is one of my favorites. The effort you have put in blending Haru into the cannon should be very well respected and deserve its praises. The time you put into making the plot feel alive and lively is wonderful.

Personally, I never understood why Haru would not just cut/trim his hair as it was never really explained since he is clearly disturbed by it but that is just a minor detail.

Anyways I thank you for your story and hope it is eventually finished but everybody has a life to live including you. Good Luck in everything!

I agree with Haru, a cute teacher like Kurenai or someone he can mess with like Kakashi would have been fun to see. Especially since Kurenai would be very inexperienced at the time, so it would be fun working with her.
