OKAY. I just finished binge reading so don’t mind me. I love this story and I love Aoi. She’s a lot different from some OC/self inserts I’ve ready so it’s refreshing to see. Also I hate and will forever hate Danzo. I’m curious to see how Shikaku will take the news from Kakashi and what Aoi will do from here

I blame you for leading me down a rabbit hole of actually garbage-tier shit fanfics, otherwise known as SI/OC fics. This was my first SI fic, and of course I was totally blown away by the quality, quality which doesn't diminish with age. This is still one of the best fics out there, and I would give more than I'm willing to admit to know how things continue. Anyways, utter false advertising, after this fic I tried reading others, searching and searching for that coherent, clever, thrilling, fleshed-out, competent cat and mouse subterfuge I got here in spades and I won't ever be able to clean my brain enough to forget every infuriating arbitrary mess I read after. C'est la vie.

To answer your grammar question, when the word ends with an “s”, it doesn’t matter which way you write the apostrophe. Both are correct, though nowadays, you’d be more likely to see Anonymous’

Alright, even though this fic has been dead for 4 years, it still gave me the need to comment on it and the fact that I cannot for the life of me continue reading it.

Aoi Is too unlikeable: apathetic, patronising,brat behaviour and seemingly sociopathic. Which really shouldn't be a problem, an unlikeable main character is an interesting concept that I don't see used often, but the fact that I have no one to be compelled by, someone that I want to see what they do next, makes it kind of a pain to keep observing Aoi. Without mentioning that, and this isn't something that I throw lightly, she REALLY feels like a Mary Sue. Like sure, she has been reincarnated, so she is soposed to be smarter, but still, no problems with chakra or understanding it or using it, while also obviously being a more than capable physicians. And is the daughter of a very important villain. I know that the way she treats everyone as fake people will be used in later chapters, but I can't be bother to see the pay off, since so far it has been "edgy sociopath doesn't care about anything while putting no effort at all and can do almost anything".

And this is very biased, but this wouldn't be so vexing if the character wasn't a Self-Insert. The idea that if you were reincarnated in another world, you would be a very cool and powerful and be the twin/child/grandchild of this totally awesome character, but this time there is a dark twist cause is the villain! I dunno, Aoi has no likeable character traits, no interesting goals and is already leagues ahead that everyone else of her age except taijutsu, and seeing how she already figured out how Gentle fist works at first try and making a style of her own, that won't last long, so you already know she is going to be powerful and important some way or the other.

Everything is made more annoying when how smart Aoi is, is hammered by every character, "she can see right through you", "she humours you like an adult humours a child to play doll", "she is bored by them".
