The alternate ending is much better. For those reading for the first time, skip Chapter 34 and just read 35. Chapter 34 genuinely feels like a "Rocks fall, everyone dies" moment where the GM got tired of running. I'm glad the writer did the alt ending, but the original "ending" just leaves a foul taste in your mouth, like you are about to finish dessert after a delicious meal, and it's snatched away at the last moment.

Again, first-time readers should skip Chapter 34 and go straight to 35.
