That was sweet! I only think he should have explained how Richard came to believe he did not love her. He tried to talk her down to Richard to make him fall out of love from E. He did it out of jealousy but he said demeaning and cruel things that justified Richard's lack of faith in D's affection for her.

I loved this story. The vision of Darcy’s fellings is really interesting and I liked it!

I wish you had given more of elizabeth's backstory ie was there nothing to inherit? Was longbourn still entailed? If so, did darcy inherit it? Was E as clever and well read as canon? Did her father teach her chess, greek, latin and philosophy?

I really liked your story

I know this was so long ago ... but questions arise about the letter and Darcy in general. 1) Did he really borrow money from Lady Catherine? Was that the basis for the "agreement"? Not made clear, you see. So did Richard actually lie to Elizabeth? 2) If Darcy needed money, which seemed unlikely, how could he have bought Longbourn? 3) How come they did not even talk about Penelope, and Darcy's past with her? Too many loopholes that were not addressed.

Thank you very much for this original story! I really enjoyed how you have adapted the original to your plot. The letter is still there, the insulting proposal in its own way, the competition for Darcy’s heart... I really enjoyed the Colonel and his role. Quite original!
