![]() ![]() ![]() I'm so sad it's over, but it was a great ride! I loved the last two scenes with MM in how you tied their role playing into what they were like in canon and "Flirting with Convention" by going back to the school. It was also very interesting that you had Sybil follow her dream by having a career over running off with Tom. Even though you left the option open for Sybil to be with Tom, I kind of like the idea of her going for Alex instead. The conversation between Mary and Richard was also interesting because I think that it showed a bit of what Mary was like before she was with Matthew. Perhaps if Marry never knew Matthew and married the real Patrick then she would have been willing to leave her husband for Richard. The scene between the women at Violet's house was funny. You even made me feel a little bad for Patrick Gordon when he said that everyone wants a place to call home. If you ever want to do one-shots from this AU I'm all for it. I also hope that you keep giving us stories of our favorite couple! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Nice twist with the finish... hitting Robert up to do the work the women's rights groups were lobbying for to open law as a career for women...! And did like the return to where it all began. Been a great story this one from start to finish. Thank you for writing it. |
![]() ![]() Great ending to one of my favorite stories! Thank you for sharing this with us! |
![]() ![]() Wonderful! Enjoyed it from the start. I do hope you are planning to continue writing other Mary/Matthew stories. They are just too good. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Aww all this was so sweet :') And lol at M/M role playing hahaha! You're ending all your stories! This is the end of an era! Luckily you still have one or two unfinished ones... :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh, another lovely story has ended. I need more DA fics! |
![]() ![]() Lovely story! You do such a great job with characterization. I've read all of your stories and am looking forward to many more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I absolutely loved how you finished this story, it was perfect how they returned to the college. I'm still sad to see this story end as well, but seriously, it ended brilliantly. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Awe yay! I'm glad it all unraveled this way! Well done! I can't wait to see what's next! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, what a brilliant chapter! It was great that Sybil took it upon herself to show the fingerprints to her professor. Eventually, everything seemed to unravel and fall into place after that. Your attention to details is absolutely wonderful. Loved what a indomitable team Matthew and Mary make! With everything revealed regarding Richard, will M/M get an apology or some remorse displayed by Cora and Rosamund? Can't wait to read what's in story for M/M next! |
![]() ![]() What a triumph! Do like how this all came together and the clever ways both Edith and Sybil helped.. Do hope to see someone arrange to accidentally leak those incriminating photos of Sir Richard about. He has been let down far too lightly! And would love to see a little chastening of Cora for her despicable role in all this too... Look forward to the next chapter as always I do love this fic! |
![]() ![]() ![]() The reveal! And what a complex and intricate plot it was that Carlisle (and you) devised! You had me thinking that it was all about Mary this entire time! Fabulous, chapter! Keep up the great work! |
![]() ![]() ![]() It's always enjoyable reading how Mary and Matthew play as a team to thwart their enemies. I rather intensely disliked Patrick so good riddance. And unfoiling Richard is always a joy. And exactly right about Matthew's shooting ability! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow what a great chapter! I have to say that you did surprise me. I wasn't expecting Downtown to be Richard's main goal. I really thought that it was Mary, but it turns out that she was just part of the puzzle. I liked how you went back and forth between the investigation and the whole storyline was a great way to tie this story with the original from "Flirting with Convention". I have to agree with another reviewer in that I wished that Cora had been in the reveal meeting to see how wrong she was about Richard. The scene between Mary and Rosamund was funny because your readers could see that Mary was playing her, but Rosamund was too blind by Richhard's money. Once again I love how you not only had MM working as a team, but the Crawley sisters as well. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, that's was a plot brilliantly played! You connected both stories and arcs and it all came together here. Sir Richard was the evil mastermind. At first, I was thinking that Downton is only a estate, there are many falling but revenge is a strong motive and it fits Sir Richard's character. I thought he was only after Mary first and I wasn't completely sure he was the one that invented Patrick Gordon, he was probably a conspirator that took the chance. At first, I was surprised that Mary was asking Rosamund to invite Sir Richard but she was using the knowledge that Rosamund is a snob to make her do her part in their plans. I honestly didn't see it coming but all the clues were there and now the pieces are in their place. Other details I liked: I though the questions for the doctor was first-time parent's anxiety, ha, ha; good point about being a sniper and the shoot; before the Servant's Ball, Sir Richard came to have a good time and was feeling attacked right then, Mary not asking Matthew's opinion on clothes, the fingerprints were key, May pointing the circular logic of Patrick Crawley's identity and Patrick asking straightaway what Mary wanted while dancing, never pay a man to admit the was very touching when Mary said that home is where your loved ones and Matthew thinking that loving Mary was to love Downton!I hope Robert will be consequent and give Matthew and Mary his real support, he can be so obtuse sometimes. I wished Cora had been in the meeting, so she see her terrible behavior about Sir Richard. Rosamund played a part in the end but she should get the lesson too. Matthew and Mary are the best team ever! |
