Reviews for Invasion of Pern |

![]() ![]() ![]() Very interesting concept! Considering the wide variety of animal life on Pern, it will be very interesting to see what other morphs these new Animorphs acquire. I hope you continue this story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm enjoying this crossover so far, and thinking of the most useful Pernese creatures to acquire. Dragons, of course, would be the most powerful, if they wouldn't mind being duplicated (how would that work with Impression?). Whers can also breathe fire, are empathic, and apparently eat Thread, but are only useful in the dark. Dolphins, of course, are perfect for any ocean work, plus they can connect to the whole dolphin network. Tunnel snakes would be the best for infiltration. Wherries and herdbeasts would be pretty useless except as camouflage. Runnerbeasts might be more useful. Grubs and sandworms could be interesting. Then I guess there are dogs, cats, and wild felines, all useful in their own way. I don't see how a yeerk could take a rider without his or her dragon immediately knowing and alerting everyone. In fact, I would say that any dragon would easily be able to identify when someone they knew was infested, and probably anyone they came into contact with. Frankly, I think infesting a dragon would be impossible. They're too powerful, and all telepathically linked. If a yeerk snuck into one, the others would immediately know and be able to destroy it. The yeerk strategy would likely be to focus on the holds and build up power by controlling the Lords and Masters, refusing dragon visits and turning the people against the Weyrs. I'm sure they would eventually be discovered by dragons and then it would be a tough and dirty job to Search out the controllers and starve them. Unless the yeerks can somehow fool the dragons, they really have no chance on Pern. But being yeerks, they would probably try stealing eggs or keeping a dragon stunned and drugged or something equally awful. Anyway, I'll be looking for more! |
![]() ![]() ![]() The framing device of one yeerk reporting to another is clever, but it seems to have a lot of unnecessary detail that would not be used in such a report. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Keep up the awesome work! The site needs more Pern stories, especially original crossovers like this one. You seem to be going with somewhere between Todd and Anne's timeframes (the belief that the fire-lizards are extinct). I prefer Anne's but will continue reading nonetheless, and a heavy HEAVY thank you for including my favorite thing in the books. The fire-lizards, without them I never would have looked up the series again and would have only read the short story The Smallest Dragonboy (as it was in my reader one year of elementary school). I can't wait to see where this goes, please update soon. |
![]() ![]() ![]() THIS IS FANTASTIC! WHOO! This combines my two favorite book series, and the plot is fantastic and it's so well-written and fits both universes And! Is! Just! So! Amazing! Oh my word I can't wait to read more! Brilliant brilliant Brilliant! The real world needs more Animorphs and Dragonrider Of Pern Fanfictions. Please update soon- it's so exciting! |
