I legitimately cried over this. I feel bad for killing quelaag and kirk now, I wish there was a way to spare them both, and still be able to give humanity to quelaan. C'mon From soft.

Awesome style, great research, and great story! I thought you really fleshed out Kirk's character and made me root for him. The little dialogue there was was meaningful. What a tragic and beautiful story.

If there's enough information, perhaps you could write about Xanthous. He seems like an interesting character, (not only for his...giant overcompensating crown) wielding chaos pyromancy and presumably being the only non-hollow guardian of Priscilla. My theory about him is that he's telling Priscilla lies about what's happened to the painted world for she does not know what goes on behind her fog gate, hence she thinks the land is peaceful and it's inhabitants kind even though clearly the whole population has gone hollow, infected or mutated into crowmen.

Or you could write about the necromancer who lost his wife and child which causes him to attempt resurrection which ends up with his family being fused into one being. I'm talking about Pinwheel. He then attempts to split them apart (hence all the books in his room and the skeletons on the walls being used for testing) which results in the pinwheel servants. Who knows how close he was to successfully separating his family into different beings so that they could live a normal and peaceful life before the chosen undead disturbs him in his research and eventually becomes his bane.

Good luck out there in Dark Souls, apologies if I invade you and try to drain your humanity. Or who knows, perhaps you'd enjoy being caressed and kissed and then getting it sucked out of your chest. :P

Dammit, that hit right in the feels. I can't help but feel that everything about Quelaan is just designed to make the player curl up in a ball of guilt. And now you made me feel like a bastard for killing Kirk too. Damn you. But seriously this is a great piece of work and I may steal it for my personal headcannon.

Damn... that one hurt to read. Thank you for this heart-felt fanfiction. Darksouls truly has a way of making you regret the things you've done. Both in the game, and outside of it. When I first talked to Quelaan, I scoured the internet for a way to skip past Quelaag, in hopes that I could avoid killing her in future runs. Hell, I was willing to take on the Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith at that stage, if it meant that I could avoid killing Quelaan's sister.

You fkn a$$h0!e... That was beautiful. I am a man yet I cried like a little girl almost through the entire thing. It's been like 5 minutes since the story ended the tears have not yet stopped.
