I knew he was going to lick her in this chapter. Loved it! Poor guy is so confused. (PS. I really hope Astrid breaks off her engagement before she decides to pursue Hiccup. But whatever, it's your story.)

I like that he pokes at her size. Still well-written as usual.

I can't even tell you how much I love this AU. Great characterizations, amazing writing and I can't wait for more!

An interesting take, but not unwelcome. Hiccup not being a tinkering genius makes sense having never used a forge, and if anyone would be determined enough to craft what Toothless needs, it'd be Astrid.

I'd like you to know that you're doing an excellent job of conveying the characters in thoughts, feelings, and actions, and their personalities are spot on. I'm curious as to where you'll take the story from here, and more than a bit hopeful for things to come.

This is officially my new favourite thing. I'm in love! Please hurry with the next chapters :)

OHHHHHHH, THIS CHAPTER WAS BEAUTIFUL.
First- that conversation! Astrid, my poor iron girl argh, Fishlegs who sees everything and Hiccup, Hiccup my poor wild baby, confused and dreaming and my baby, my poor lovestruck little baby.
And the point Fishlegs made- how Astrid wasn't like the others, how she could breathe with Hiccup, YES, YES, YES! That is everything I love about hiccstrid wrapped up in a piece of dialogue. EVERYTHING. And poor Astrid's talk with her mum, ughhh, KILL ME NOW BEFORE THIS STORY MAKES ME DIE OF FEELS.
And then Astrid and Gobber talking! ARGH. YES. NO. PLEASE CONTINUE TALKING GOBBER ASTRID FIND OUT FIDN OUT FIND OUUUUUUTTTTTTTTT. HSFESKDDJ

Hehe, leading Berk by the side of the future, aye, yes indeed...by the side of Snotlout though? Eh, nah so much. We all know that ship ain't going to sail, no matter how much the Hairy Hooligans expect it will. Nooo, I think I smell an entirely different ship of an entirely different nature just waiting beyond the horizon for its passengers, hehehe.
And oh, you are so close Astrid, so very close. Ye need to not be lookin' at Gobber so much as the company he keeps and who he's the closest to ;P At least she's on the trail now. I'm really loving this whole story and looking forward to seeing more chapters and how it eventually ends, it's really fantastic and you're an amazing writer. All of the character interactions are the best part of this :D
