Loved it! There are not enough stories that don't make Harry dumb as a post. Personally, I thought he was so conditioned not to do well in school that he sabotaged himself. Also, he was desperate to keep his friends and a lazy Ron that scorned studying and a smart Hermione who hated it when other did better than her didn't help to say the least. Not bashing, they just had character flaws that were the worst possible for Harry's chances of excelling in school.

This reminded me of your "Overheard Converstion". I enjoyed it as well (and am about to re-read it).

I like your stories, simply because you portray Harry as he could have been. Canon Harry was lazy, but he was by no means as stupid or as weak as most fics like to portray him.

Also Hermione isn't some paragon of virtue in your fics. Fandom Granger is the smartest, most beautiful, most creative person that HP has ever seen. The majority of the fics on here forget that she was close minded, abrasive, rude, bossy, and often describe as plain. Whenever HP thought of something important, if it didn't go along with her theories, she pushed it aside. She was mean to both fleur and Luna.

The movies watered down a lot of the characters. Snape, Draco, and Granger to name a few. A lot of Harry's good moments were given to her.

Ever since that article came out Harmony fans have been insufferable. Said article didn't even say that they belong together, it said the were better fit. I welcome any well written story that doesn't have HP as some drooling idiot that wouldn't function without HG and without her as a great goddess. So TY

I love subversive stories like this! Even though I realize that Hermione is a brave,decent and honest character - I simply cannot stand the way she has been worshipped like a queen in Fandom. I welcome any story that bashes her for that very reason. So many writers portray her as the real heroine of HP, and Harry as her loyal sidekick who couldn't tie own his shoes without her wise counsel. Having grown up in the muggle world, why is Hermione too clueless to pick up on Harry's lifetime of abuse. (Yeah, she notices a trap door beneath a giant attacking Cerberus, and the most trivial of details - yet Harry's thinness, shabby clothes and screaming relatives are beyond her sharp observational skills!)

So, once again...thank you for this delightful story where Harry is proactive AND actually asks himself questions. And thank you for not killing Sirius!
