Harry hearing the basilisk again gave Hermione the opening she needed to play her part.

You know, as I was reading this, I realized,all those docs where they don't time travel to save Sirius, but instead convince the Minister to free him, result in Buckbeak dying because no one saves him.

Interesting head canon. Too bad it wasn’t real. It actually makes her character more interesting to be this flawed.
