Not real sure how naruto is EXCITED to be related to the sage... Technically isn't ANYBODY who uses chakra, or has a bloodline RELATED to him? Since his mother is the VERY FIRST one to ever have chakra? Just seems kinda REDUNDANT at this point.. Anybody with superpowers?.. Is YES, related to the "extra-dimensional being that is descendant from the extra-dimensional being that came to the world and ate a magical fruit, in order to actually ACCESS those superpowers". Kinda makes sense with how SOME people can use chakra and MOST cannot.. The ones that can't... Don't have the "alien gene". Chakra ITSELF might (and I stress MIGHT) not exactly be like that.. But the bloodlines REALLY ARE. Especially here, since you've even brought the "dead bone pulse" all the way back to the beginning of chakra. (not really sure WHY, as that particular bloodline doesn't seem as EPIC as: nature manipulation, the rinnegan, byakkugan and the "eye infection"... "dead bone pulse" just seems like something that would crop up either spontaneously for a fighting clan, or in a doctor's lab).

I agree with you, on the whole "Hayate's death was meaningless"... It really was.. And shouldn't kabuto actually BE CAUGHT by now? They've been given: not one, not two, but three warnings and naruto had one of his people following him (there should have been anbu too. Yes, he PROBABLY could have given them the slip.. BUT that would have proved his guilt too... ANY WAY you look at it... He's "burned").. But the death really didn't DO anything for any of the characters... So "good choice" on letting him live.

I guess the thing that gets me THE MOST, with the hyuuga elders, the stupid civilian councils, danzo and the elders.. Is the fact that ALL the "heroes" are FAR MORE powerful then EVERY faction I just stated... AND they ALL are KILLERS by PROFESSION, have been for YEARS.. Murder IS a "viable option" to them all... It's not even ILLEGAL.. (because the hokage IS the LAW) most authors just inject ENTIRELY too much of the "real world" into these things.. (I think it's because most of them take place ALMOST entirely IN THE VILLAGE, whereas in the real series.. Naruto is HARDLY EVER in the village for any amount of time, even when he IS.. There is: "an undead invasion", sky village attacking, "bombs" placed all over the village that need found, a "yeti species invasion", people "drifting down the main river", etc).. In their world, ninja would NOT tolerate being ordered around, by people that could barely give them a paper cut with EVERYTHING they got. They'd smile, hear their opinion and PROMPTLY dismiss them and their opinions (look at canon hiashi)... Tsunade, BASICALLY ignores the two old fossils and does whatever she was going to do anyway... And there ISN'T a civilian council (because that's just kinda silly). They can and DO, do these things because: danzo, elders, clan elders etc.. Cannot DO anything to ANY of them, there is absolutely NOTHING to concern ANY of them! All members of those factions only continue to LIVE at their whim. AND ALL parties involved KNOW this.

They died in a VERY (ridiculous even) SHORT amount of time! Also loving the shushin? So just teach him it.. He's GOT the reserves already. It would take like 2 minutes to show him. (or the sharringan can just copy it, remember?)

Yes, yes the sharringan has loads of ridicules and unrelated powers at level and above.. BUT you forgot the Izanagi, which makes it so the user can get back up after a killing blow... and Izanami which puts people in an "endless loop"... However if this is advice from the sage, you'd THINK he would also tell the uchiha to avoid.. "flash bang tags", "extremely bright lights", "chakra flares", "chakra smoke and fog", and a bunch of other things that CAN defeat the sharringan OR "destroy" it. *pepper spray and/or ground glass to the eyeballs, would easily accomplish that... And the opponent doesn't even need to be a ninja to use those.. As EASY EXAMPLES*

Biggest difference between "ego" and "truth"? RESULTS!... Naruto "crowing" about himself is TRUTH... Sasuke? Is DELUSION and "ego"... Naruto "having a way with words"? KINDA TRUTH, considering how many people he brings over to his way of thinking, with just talking. Sasuke "being an elite and powerful" ninja?.. DELUSION when he's never beaten a SINGLE opponent without LOADS of help! (and he WON'T for a LONG, LONG time) and USUALLY needs "saving" by someone or being spared by the enemy, he's NOT elite (not even completely sure the entire clan was.. Considering Konoha didn't REALLY lose any status or have any more problems, when they were wiped out.. Nor does ANY village ever come to kidnap him, despite there NOT BEING A CLAN TO DEFEND HIM anymore..) and he's REALLY NOT "powerful" at all. *in fact the FIRST person the uchiha "beats" on his own, without his opponent sparing him or throwing the fight.. Is Orochimaru.. While the latter is laying in a sick bed, DYING and too weak to do a whole lot AND crippled with his arms* so yeah.. REAL "powerful" there.

The uchiha really makes NO SENSE... Think about it.. The clan was SUPPOSEDLY these "great and powerful nins"... But NOBODY comes to kidnap sasuke after the failed rebellion.. Despite the fact that other villages try for the Byakkugan, which ISN'T a combat-oriented eye.. At least, not as much as the sharringan.. The uchiha HAS NO CLAN to defend him anymore, and isn't hidden.. BUT NOTHING COMES OF IT...The ENTIRE clan never made a SINGLE enemy huh? Isn't that the ENTIRE reason naruto was supposedly "hidden"? Also for "great and powerful nins", nobody considers it ODD that there was NEVER even an alarm raised the night of the wipe? DOZENS or more "great and powerful" nins fell in a NIGHT without so much as ONE "boom"? Konoha lost NO contracts, no military force, NO ANYTHING, even though they were ALL wiped? Does THAT sound like they were "necessary" or even "important"?

Besides, he was actually pretty ADULT about his "revenge".. He tried to KILL his cousin, who was helpless in all this, but the "proud ninja of kumo"? He just hit with an attack and beat.. No DEATH)

So kushina's KI can flatten everyone? Then how did ROOT keep her so long? (they're all MUCH, MUCH weaker then a sannin and all the jounin, to say NOTHING about the tailed beasts.. AND it was for YEARS.. She should have been able to RALLY herself a COUPLE times during all that time).. BIG PLOT HOLE.

With Kabuto.. You DO remember that Naruto already warned Ibuki and the hokage about Kabuto being a spy WAAAAAY back 3 chapters ago. (on his test that Ibuki collected). Add the fact that even hinata can see he's lying? And um.. SHOULDN'T HE KINDA BE BUSTED at this point? Everyone is placing an AWFUL lot of "faith" in this evil-sealing seal that only works if it's backed by the will of the person it's put on (which sasuke is NEVER going to do, everyone should KNOW he won't) and thus it's kinda REDUNDANT, why not just have Kushina REMOVE the curse seal altogether? She's AN UZUMAKI and Orochi "sucks at sealing"... So it should be KINDA e-z. (honestly, the longer these exams go on, the more plot holes are going to crop up, or get a LOT wider).

There are 5 jinchuriki ALL in konoha? WHERE IN THE HECK ARE THE AKATSUKI? This would be CATNIP for them! (not to mention breaking ALL kinds of rules about NOT sending jinchuriki to other villages, it's kinda why, in canon, konoha should have KNOWN suna was against them, since they sent garaa. Of course in canon they didn't even figure out garaa WAS a jinchuriki until he was half-way through his final change). But seriously... The akatsuki could JUST ABOUT complete their ENTIRE ARC/MISSION with ONE attack right now! They'd KNOW that.

A few problems.. How was the guy able to "reach into a pocket and pop a soldier pill" if he's HOLDING a handsign? That takes two hands, so what did he do? GROW A THIRD ARM? Also if he's ALREADY taken one pill when Shino left him, it should be IMPOSSIBLE for a second pill to work.. Otherwise all ninja fights would just be "popping pills and doing jutsu after jutsu". It should NOT work that way.. Or at least KILL him with an O.D. (there has to be a REASON people don't just keep popping those and EVERYBODY turning into Uzumakis.) Plus don't you find it odd, that in all these ff stories SO MANY PEOPLE KNOW SEALING? It's supposed to be a "lost art".. But in ALL these, people just go BANANAS with "pulling seals out of their butts".. Of course canon seems to do that too, toward the end.. Somehow "sealing being a lost art that NOBODY really knows" is very much FORGOTTEN about... But of course that then makes the beginning with "nobody understanding the difference between kunai and scroll" make NO SENSE, if sealing is ACTUALLY pretty common.

Well your ways of unlocking the are a little better.. NOT CANON, but better.. *seriously, the ways to do it REALLY, are PRETTY evil.. They really AREN'T designed for heroes*... So naruto's NEWEST heart is just for his bloodline? Seems...ODD.. I don't really mind, but "naruto bloodline hunter" seems a bit of a different track then the original. But since naruto doesn't seem to be getting ANY jutsu with the hearts(so no REAL reason to have multiple affinities).. It works. .. And "sacrifice"? Doesn't naruto already have THREE hearts? So the only thing that would have came from him getting SKEWERED, is one of the masks would have been lost. He's now up to "4 extra lives"... I supposed you could argue that NARUTO didn't know that at the time.. So it would "count" as a sacrifice. (after all, I'm pretty sure nobody has TOLD him that he has MULTIPLE LIVES now, or that he essentially is immortal as far as time goes).

Well u DID show WHY kiba is a MUCH better fit on a team with the uchiha and sakura then naruto EVER was or would be... That "pack mentality" he has and SHOULD be trying to instill into them is a MUCH, MUCH more logical reason to defend the uchiha OVER AND OVER. It's better than any "forced, out-of-the-blue, illogical friendship" that canon tries to shoehorn in. Not to sure WHY naruto goes after the huge mess of people in the forest though.. Weren't they JUST complaining to get OUT of said forest? And everyone THEY care about is WITH THEM.. It's A TEST.. So let the others try to pass on their own.. After all, it's to SEE IF THEY CAN CUT IT. If they get knocked out, or lose their way before making it to the tower? It's better than getting themselves and their teams killed, while out in the field because they don't have the "backup" they did in the supposed "test". I get that "tossing the extra scrolls to team 10 and team 7" means "good people" and all that, but doesn't that basically DESTROY the entire REASON for the test? That EACH team has to be strong enough to survive the forest, get the two scrolls and get all three people to the tower! Naruto threw Shika a scroll because he OWED the team in canon.. Here? Naruto and team 8 don't OWE anybody, anything.

Why in the HOLY FUCK would Kushina go BACK to being a ninja for a village that TORTURED HER, Kept her chained up, tortured her daughter, kidnapped her, TORTURED HER SON, defied her "last wishes" and SPIT on her husband's memory? THIS IS UTTERLY BAFFLING to me! I would think she'd want NOTHING AT ALL to do with "defending the shitpit". Let alone being away from her family (AGAIN, AFTER YEARS OF SEPARATION) and put on missions that she would CARE NOTHING ABOUT! This REALLY makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE.

Actually the Uchiha are kinda "truly written" as bad guys.. If you REALLY look at it.. They descend from an insane progenitor... (Madara MIGHT have helped create konoha, but then he turned around and wanted to kill everybody, because they didn't want him to rule them! That's just NUTS). It's been told many times that they REALLY wanted the sharringan to remain "pure" and to DEFINITELY get past down.. That kinda SCREAMS "inbreeding".. And the fact that Itachi's "fiancé" was a COUSIN, kinda supports the idea.. SOOOO.. basically a clan of people that CAME from a madman, that are INBRED... That doesn't say good things for the psychopathy to NOT be bred into them ALL... Then we have the "small" complication of the eyes only evolving with the "killing of the closest friend" and then "ripping the eyes out of a sibling"... NEITHER of which actions are very..Ummm.. SANE! Just everything about the Uchiha (ALL of them) SCREAM "villain"! The eyes are "combat oriented".. The personalities are ALL "self-serving" with over-inflated opinions of themselves.. Even Itachi.. Killed the clan BUT THEN MADE SURE his 'later' killer would be "protected", "thought well of, by the villagers", AND "motivated to kill him, DAMN the rest of his life". Just so "the clan could be brought to 'greatness' again" See? They ALL serve THEMSELVES. Anyone, ANY of them help is KINDA "collateral", they are ALL just "THE BAD GUYS". Even though Kishi does MENTAL GYMNASTICS to try to convince people, sasuke is "good"... HE ISN'T. The "curse of hatred"? DOES NOT EXIST... It is just mental instability past from Uchiha to Uchiha...That eventually, GETS THEM ALL. You could have an Uchiha that is strapped to a bed, in a dark room for their ENTIRE life and they will STILL have "grandiose, delusional self-worth".. Shin Uchiha PROVES that point in canon!

Ahh Orochimaru... The "master tactician" and "strategic GENIUS".. ANNOUNCING himself with a CLARION CALL, being that IDIOTIC tongue stupidity... Luckily, Anko and the others seem EVEN DUMBER then your average tub of cottage cheese and are DEAF, so they can't hear that call. It ALMOST makes one think that Konoha DESERVES the invasion, for becoming dumber then "pet rocks". BTW.. Yes, this is one of those "PLOT HOLES" mentioned before.. (that and the "barrier team" should be already YELLING that the sannin was in the village, at this point). But I guess you kept it anyway.

Ahh Kabuto.. The "worst spy" I've ever heard of.. Giving out information that should be IMPOSSIBLE for a gennin to have and "somehow" passing it off as "I've been through these exams before"... That never made a LICK of sense to me.. How in the WORLD does that matter, if the info is on people that HAVEN'T? How would a gennin know a bunch of info about contestants from OTHER villages, when they ALSO have never competed? He basically is ANNOUNCING what he is.. He might as well be wearing a flashing neon sign around his neck, reading "I AM A SPY". and if you understand THAT.. Then the bit about "oto" says WHICH village he is REALLY aligned with. Like I said... "WORST SPY IN HISTORY". He's supposed to be intelligent.. But... ACTIONS say "he isn't".. But Orochimaru is WORSE in the next scene... using his tongue to return a kunai? So basically using a jutsu that ONLY ONE person is ever KNOWN for using? To hand back a kunai, to the one person that SHOULD know it's him... Supposedly devoted her life to finding and killing the snake, BUT can't identify his mode of speech OR his signature jutsu? Konoha's "brain death" curse strikes again... So yeah.. Orochimaru being a "genius"? That is very "sus".

I know it's done mainly "for laughs", but if Hinata's response to naruto appearing in front of her, is to INSTANTLY slam him, hard enough to go THROUGH a tree and into another one? Why can't she handle her OWN attackers? Instead of just playing it JUST for kicks.. Make this the NORMAL response and she'd tend to WIN most of her fights!

I've never really understood naruto participating in the chunin exams... I know it's a Shonen Jump story and this is a "tournament" so it's kinda a "moral imperative" for him to be in it... But really, it's where the story breaks down even FURTHER then usual.. Here is my point... If naruto is given his mother's name and his heritage hidden from EVERYBODY, for some absolutely PATHETIC reason... Why in the WORLD would he be in a tournament, where all those supposed "scary enemies of the fourth" are GOING TO BE PRESENT? They WILL see him! Then THEY ARE GONNA KNOW WHO HE IS... No matter what kinda lame-ass bullcrap the third makes, to try to obfuscate him... It TOTALLY BLOWS EVERYTHING UP TO THIS POINT OUT OF THE WATER.. And makes ALL THE LIES AND SUFFERING (naruto went through) UTTERLY POINTLESS! KUMO even KNOWS the name "uzumaki".. (they came after kushina a long time ago)... ALL of the beginning IMPLODES upon the chunnin exams... and it's where plot holes, the size of 18-wheeler trucks, start to "pop up".. .It's also KINDA dumb that all the jounin send their kids to the chunin exams first try.. They haven't REALLY "learned" anything yet. (and no, a battleground with a bunch of other villages that are PROPERLY trained, is NOT a place to learn anything! Except, maybe "how inept the teaching system in Konoha really is").

As for the banshee and the teme? Just wait till the forest of death and KILL THEM! Very simple... UN-PUNISHABLE... That's what the "signed documents" are for! So just get rid of them then and everybody has to just "suck it up, buttercups"... Not to mention that if the uchiha and the banshee are killed... Who's LEFT to report who did it? It's just a case of.. "they weren't ready", "I guess kakashi REALLY shouldn't have signed them up for the exam." After all, it COULD have been ANY of the teams, it COULD have been Orochimaru, it COULD have been Kumo's team, it COULD have been Suna's teams, it COULD have been one of the ones from Ami, or even Mist OR grass...

It's ODD that you put THIS encounter in this story, as it makes VERY, VERY little sense in the canon in the first place... It's KINDA a plot hole to be honest... The Akatsuki are SUPPOSED to be "hiding" at this point, so why would they show up in full outfits and basically SPELL out what they want? They cannot use naruto at this time.. The kyuubi needs to be added LAST of the tailed beasts, or the statue will be destroyed, they AT THIS POINT have NO tailed beasts. They have NO WAY of holding a jinchuriki for ANY amount of time (let alone the STRONGEST of them all).. So it's KINDA dumb to show what strengths they have TO said jinchuriki, when he is connected to the hokage and the hokage is connected to ALL the other kages.. Thus KILLING their whole "secretive nature" (although how a BLUE, 8 foot tall guy with GILLS, no eyelids, TINY solid black eyeballs and pointed teeth is SUPPOSED to be "hidden" I'm not real sure)... It was just kinda a POINTLESS, and really STUPID encounter at this point... I've never understood how Kisame goes ANYWHERE in the ninja world.. You'd think that, especially in shinobi villages, they would NOTICE that kind of FREAKY appearance... It would be easy to KNOW who it is, AT THE GATES!

"no, we don't have to worry about them moving for several years"... EXCEPT with this crap encounter... They know that's A LIE! See the problem with this whole encounter HERE? It's a PLOT HOLE. and "organization" is a BIT of a stretch when describing the Akutski.. Considering there are 10 members TOTAL... And 1 of them isn't a fighter (zetsu).. Itachi and fish-fry coming after naruto is 1/4th of the entire "organization". As far as "what they are waiting for"? More then likely? "the plot to catch up"... The Akutski are NOT really good characters.. Their powers, motives, backgrounds, etc.. Are a little "all over the place", from encounter-to-encounter. They are okay villains, in the same way that the "Ginyu Force" are okay villains for dbz. But trying to give them more of "plan" or "hidden agendas", "backgrounds" or "personalities" just falls to pieces. But they ARE better then danzo. (who doesn't really work as a character OR as a villain, he probably was just added as filler, for when tsunade was incapacitated.. Which is why you never heard of him in canon UNTIL then).

Dang cut off at a good point in the story. Oh well I liked what I read so far anyways. Solid 8/10 story

So naruto basically invented Tear gas if what I'm seeing is right. Hope that shows up some more later on

I imagine Danzo probably kidnapped Fuu from her village. The biggest clue, besides her being a pairing, is that Hiruzen assigned Yamato to the squad to infiltrate Danzos base. He's never really talked about unless it's to subdue jinchuriki's. I'll see if I'm right in a few chapters
