My faith in Jaune getting an unhappy ending is wavering, as likely as it seems the foreshadowing is pointing the other way

After reading the whole thing, I can only say that i am impressed, and that is one hell of an understatement. If you think about it, getting betrayed by 10 people, some of which were pretty close to you, it would make sense to have major trust issues. I also love how, even if she was frustrated, Ruby won in the end. She only got 6, but im pretty sure the ones who lived are, suffice to say mentally, fucked. Like, they just witnessed the person they thought they killed, come back and kill 6 of their classmates, mortal enemies in tow. Also, at the point of writing, the sequel is out, but im going to assume that Ruby did the equivalent of throwing away her humanity. Why else would you specify that there were black rose petals. Seems to me like shes actually becoming, at least part, Grimm. I gotta say, I for some reason just love stories like these. Dont get me wrong, I like other shit as well, like 2-in-1 characters, that being one body with something like 2 souls or whatever, as they are usually complete opposites personality wise and such. But something about a normally very wholesome and pure character becoming wholy and absouletly crazy and evil does raise my interest. I think it stems from being interested where they take the whole thing, and change in general. What can I say, im a sucker for character design. It can be something like cutting off a characters limb, as morbid as it may be, or seperating them at a young age. what matters is that there is some grand change that really makes them different from who they usually are. Its also that i just love characters who are completly of their rocker. Joker, happy chaos or any other character whos essentially fully crazy, is interesting because of how unimaginably unhinged they are. If you can have them do anything and it seems completly believable, im sold. Anyway, rambling aside, absolutely loved the hell out of this! Interested to see where the sequel goes, with the implications of Ruby throwing away that teensie bit of light she still had.

Neat info for the origin of Dinah. For some reason, all I could think of was the Parahumans series, which has a character named Dinah as well as one named Red Queen, though I just realized that this was probably written prior to Amy taking the name Red Queen in Ward. Well, the Red Queen in Ward is also a dark haired hero who became a villain with incredible power after going kinda crazy, and also has a heroic blonde sister. Hopefully, this Red Queen won’t also be an incestuous yandere like the one in Parahumans.

Absolutely awesome story, I love this kind of dark Ruby, that whole bit where she was just all “I can kill you at any point” oh man, my inner edge lord loved it. Excited to get on to reading the sequel and interested to see what they do about the four that lived too.

Its not every story that gets me moved. Ya did good on this one.

That said could you take care of the spellings. Drove me nuts, but I couldn't stop reading.

Hopefully Jaune doesn't end up thawing Ruby's cold heart by the end of this, and 'redeeming' her. This is the first evil Ruby story I've seen, and that'd be a shame. :P

Within the lost prophecies of old there is one tale that shines the darkest red.
One of betrayal and the rise of a queen.
In a kingdom there is a girl that held such passion and skill
She was recognized by only a few
A golden dragon by the girls side since she was young
A blonde knight that she found a true friend
And a mysterious man in a high tower that helped along her way.
But with every light there is a shadow in her court where those that would betray her for their own gain be it personal glory or self perceived importance the were there.
The white advisor from the north that helped the girl mature
A bronze warrior that was of equal match
And the mysterious black cat that worked from shadow
But upon the eve of an important event the girl was betrayed, the knight lost in a forest, the dragon contained, and the man in the tower far away.
But from the dark of the forest came an unknown savior
A beast
One in which the girl was meant to hunt
But instead it helped her back to health and from the ashes of a betrayed girl rose a queen
One of dark red and of black one who made her own court and shall seek vengeance on the ones who betrayed her.
But there are those that change the bronze warrior.
A secret lover of the blonde knight felt guilty of her actions, and pledged to herself and the girl who she thought dead to comfort him.
But to never forget the bond they made.
However it is not easy to regain the trust of those betrayed.
