I thought I had read all of the completed Harry/Tonks stories, so it was a real treat to find yours. Thank you for a fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hedwig is quite the Diva, isn't she? I always thought she understood Harry, so I'm baffled why she doesn't understand that he is trying to hide ... and she would just give him away.

I love the idea of Harry and Tonks as little kids fighting the DEs. I find it amusing that everyone knows Tonks and her sexy BF are Metamorphmagi, yet no one seems to suspect the two of being the kids.

I'm glad Harry and Tonks destroyed the Vanishing Cabinet ... and sent Draco with it. He bore the Mark, so he had to have committed at least one murder; and we know he was planning at least one (if not many) more ... which means he was hardly the innocent victim Dumbledore is sure to portray him. I guess Snape is what is called collateral damage.

"I used this to show that he could have been with [Ginny], it just was bad timing and teenage anger."

Actually, I disagree. Ginny's response to Harry goes to the heart of her infatuation/obsession with the Boy Who Lived (BWL). I don't think Ginny ever loved Harry ... the REAL Harry ... the boy who grew up in a cupboard under the stairs and was hated and abused by his relatives ... the boy who hated his fame ... who just wanted to be a normal, nondescript kid. Ginny was in love with the bigger-than-life myth of The Boy Who Lived. She
loved the boy who battled a Basilisk for her ... the boy who was forced into the TWT, battled a dragon, and escaped yet another confrontation with Voldemort ... the boy who led a raid on the DoM and fought DEs.

Ginny was in awe of the BWL, who survived huge, grandiose adventures. The fact that Harry saw all of these "adventures" as part of the manipulations Dumbledore had been pulling on him since he had reentered the Magical World in 1991, and was tired of taking part in them anymore, did not fit her idea of who the BWL should be.

The BWL should just magically be able to defeat Voldemort, because he WAS the BWL. Had Ginny just seen scrawny, grieving, frightened Harry - who knew he needed REAL training and help if he was going to defeat Voldemort - she would have understood his frustration with Dumbledore's failure to train him and his need to strike out on his own to get what he needed. Her typical Weasley response tells him just how she sees him. She doesn't ... not really.

Sorry for the rant. Its JM2K.
