Yeah, that last paragraph really lays out one of the biggest challenges of updating Hogwarts. Teaching longtime conservatives to think for themselves isn't easy, especially when they are resistant to changing their ways.

So far, so good. Nothing too unexpected, I expected the purge to be larger than four but the volunteers to retire were a bit of a surprise to me and it shouldn't have been. Even the younger teachers were resistant to making changes, even if they for the better.

The reality of being between the proverbial Rock and Hard Place is sinking in for Scrimgeour. Did Bones get killed like in canon HP? Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if Fudge sacked her because she failed to capture the "Fine Upstanding Citizens" before they got killed while attempting a murder spree on innocent non-magicals.

Honestly, I was hoping those stupid purebloods would drown in the swamp, get bitten by venomous snakes, and/or eaten by alligators imported from the US.

great story. I love the magical primary school idea and giving ppl access to media and again bringing them into the 21st century which basically no other fanfic has done, and this is really neat.

it's also sad that nobody ever addressed children being homesick cuz I went to a summer camp when I was 12 and I was 100% quite homesick even though it was fun. can't imagine being in a death trap castle being bullied by others and NOT feeling homesick

The weekends will be completely free for the children to do what they want. In the past the teachers at Hogwarts normally set large amounts of homework to keep them busy to prevent them acting out, but this will change. Homework for one subject will at most take one hour to finish, including research for a topic.

In Australia and India, parselmouths are revered, as they have large populations of poisonous snakes there. Having a parselmouth with you means that you aren't in danger from those snakes. Harry met an Australian witch who has the same talent fifteen years ago and she told him of her work on a snake farm where they breed snakes to use their venom to develop antidotes for hospitals
