BINDING INFO chapter 39 . 1/10/2021 Okay so apparently my computer fricking hates me? STOP BINDING IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE, OUT OF BREATH, OR IN PAIN. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. Cross your fingers y'all...let's hope this works. |
BINDING INFO chapter 39 . 1/10/2021 Haha somehow one of the most important sentences in that entire long thing got messed up? After, "...YOU START TO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE", it should say, " * Y*." I cannot stress this enough! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES PRECIOUS RAINBOW FRIENDS! |
BINDING INFO chapter 39 . 1/10/2021 Hello! This is a lovely story, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I think you did an excellent job making this clear, but I want to really emphasize it. Here are some tips on how to bind safely: 1. DO. NOT. USE. BANDAGES. TO. BIND. IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE. There are so many alternatives. The first and best method is professional binders that are designed for chest binding. (Like the one Percy gives Annabeth) A good brand is gc2b. They sell half and full length binders in a large range of sizes and colors for around 30-40 dollars. Websites will have the info you need about how to take care of your binder, how to use it properly, and what you can and cannot do in it. If those are too expensive, there are lots of organizations that you can get free or very cheap used binders from. IF YOU CANNOT GET A PROFESSIONAL BINDER, THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN USE BANDAGES. DON'T. EVER. PLEASE. There are lots of binding methods that use things from everyday life. A method that is pretty simple is getting a sports bra that is a size too small. There are tons of other ideas out there; please do research! There's a great wikihow article called "5 Ways to Safely Bind Your Chest Without a Binder". It has lots of great ideas and info. You should check it out! I have a friend who isn't out to their parents, and they've been able to bind safely and successfully without a fancy binder. (They use the sports bra method.) I know these are far from perfect, but it can help if you wear baggy clothing with your binder. 2. DO NOT DOUBLE BIND. Only ever use one binding method at a time. If something isn't working, try a different method. Double binding (along with binding with bandages) can seriously injure you. DO. NOT. DO IT. 3. DON'T WEAR YOUR BINDER FOR MORE THAN 7-8 HOURS A DAY. It is SO important to give your body a break. Wearing your binder for too long can seriously damage your body. And NEVER wear it to bed. (Note: when you first start binding, it's a good idea to ease your body into it by starting with a few hours a day and building from there.) 4. It's really not a great idea to bind while exercising. It's really important to be able to breath, and it's a good idea to switch to a sports bra while exercising. 5. If you're young and your breasts are still in a crucial stage of development, be extremely careful with binding. Again, there are a lot of resources out there. 6. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING OR START TO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE, * Y*. I cannot stress enough how important it is to be safe while binding. DON'T HURT YOURSELF! 7. Be really careful about binding before or during your period. If you're someone whose breasts swell while on your period, wearing a binder can be harmful. If you can afford it, try getting a binder or bra that's a size bigger than normal to wear while on your period. If you can't, BAGGY SWEATSHIRTS TO THE RESCUE! 8. PLEASE do research before you bind. I am not an expert, and everyone's bodies are different. It's super important to find out everything you need to know before you start binding, and if you're unsure about something, LOOK IT UP! That's why the internet exists :). If you're able, PLEASE TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR! They're really the best source of info. I recognize that that isn't possible for everyone though, and that's why I wrote this. I hope this was helpful to SOMEONE out there. You are valid and beautiful! I know that dysphoria is HORRIBLE, but you will get through it! YOU ARE NOT ALONE. (DEH reference anyone?) Please take care of yourself, and safe binding! |

HaEaLaLaO chapter 39 . 11/7/2020 I sarrted reading this because the summary randomly reminded me of this show I watched once. Like 2 chapters into it, I was pretty convinced that it was not a coincidence. It is practically the same storyline, but better. As is clearly obveius from the 3k, it is VERY well written. By the way, the show is called to the beautiful you, and if you haven't watched it... I recommend it! |
