Bats are something completely different. They're bats. The small ones live off insects, fish or mammal blood, the large ones of fruit mainly. Have you ever seen a vampire? Have you ever seen a rat's teeth? They're completely different, and mammals can be distinguished down to species level with their teeth alone. Any mammal that has different teeth than another MUST be very far related at best, otherwise they'd have similar teeth. My heart cries out loud... |

Please tell me that it's only Harry and Dudley who have no idea about zoological systematics, and Hermione's in just too lazy a mood to correct them. Ferrets are Mustelids/Carnivorans, they hunt, kill, and eat prey animals like small mammals or birds, up to rabbits and chickens. They're closely related to badgers and otters. Rodents are mammals like mice, hamsters, beavers, squirrels and guinea pigs. They have incisors that grow lifelong and most of them are herbivores. My heart weeps... |

I did figure that's what they had planned to combat Fumbles though, the way it was worded was perfect for that style of dodge. Very clever tale all told, and you keep my loves together throughout. Glad I had this none recommended. |
