Given how introverted Bella seems, this party situation must be all sorts of wrong for her. I'm getting a sick feeling these boys are dangerous with the way they look down at girls in general as just scores. Bella should leave, rain or no rain with Rose, now. Why would Rose even stay if she's had that angry fight with dip-shit Michael.

The slow burn to Edward is very exciting. I want and need to know more about him. I love the way you give the reader just enough detail to lure us into the drama inch by enticing inch. I need for these two to get to know each other, soon.

How can a father and I guess "lover" do that to these two lovely ladies? I could feel Emily's hope and Bella's resigned fact from knowing their past father/daughter history that Charlie just wasn't going to show up. How do you do that to these two woman? And these two woman ought to show him he can't get away with treating them in this neglectful and disrespectful way. He's got issues that's for sure.

I'm starting to see why Bella is as "cut off" as she seems. Charlie ignoring any emotional ties to her must have left a sad void in her life. She seems resigned to her father's emotional abandonment but she's hurting from it I imagine. She's very insightful and seems very mature in her inner dialogue. Her childhood dream memories make it sound as if she once had a great dad. I'm curious to find out more about Charlie's reasons for being the way he is. And of course I can't wait to see Bella take a risk and find something, somebody interesting to help open her up to life. Very lovely and detailed descriptive word choices bring the reader right into these character's unfolding drama.

Bella sounds like a cautiously quiet girl so finding this intriguing, seemingly badass boy looking her way must be exciting for her. Riley on the other hand seems like a safe bet, maybe Bella is ready to
break wide open and experience a summer awakening with either or. I'm thinking bad boy will earn her inner bad girl to come out and check out their instant attraction.

Oh my heart... I loved how you were able to capture the feeling of summer, and wow... Just love this. This is probably something that I'll come back to when I want to feel summer.
