What happens next? How does he win her trust? Does he win them? I have a strong feeling the father is going to interfere mightily... or at least try to. Dushruk, however, I feel will be a better ally than we expect. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Despite the fact that it seems that you’ve abandoned this story half a decade ago I can’t keep my mouth shut about how nice it started! I’m totally hooked and I think it’s one of your best storys so far. As someone who writes and abandons story’s on a regular base I now it’s most of the time futile to say this but I’ll do it anyway: Please continue it! I totally never will sleep peacefully again until Mauhûr gets the girl.

I love Golmud's "advice for the lovelorn" that he's giving Mauhur! The guy ought to write an advice column for the "Isengard Times." This is fabulous! Hilarious, touching, and delightful. Great, unusual points of view on Men and all their incomprehensible ways, and on the ways of love being explained to an unfortunate being who doesn't have one beginning of a clue what is going on. Poor Mauhur! This really is one of the most fascinating stories I've ever read.

This is fantastic and fascinating! Ugluk and Mauhur are my favorite Orc characters in The Lord of the Rings (the novel, I mean, not the films); or at least the concept of Mauhur, since we know nothing of him in the book except the few, tantalizing, brief mentions. I am extremely intrigued with what you are doing here. The character of Golmud the sniffer is a particularly intriguing touch, and it's fascinating to see his interactions with (and his baiting of) Mauhur. Also the interactions between the Uruks and the Dunlendings are extremely well handled and interesting. And I am loving this idea of Mauhur's falling in love at first sight without, of course, having any idea that this is what he's doing. Now, you mentioned in your profile that for stories that haven't been updated recently, a nice, long review is a good way to encourage you to bring those stories onto the front burner again. I hope I may succeed in getting you interested in returning to this one! I would love to see where the tale goes. And, being a sentimental sort of Orc-fan, I definitely WOULD love to see Mauhur survive and get a happy ending out of the deal. I know it's unlikely for the poor Orcs, but you've given that to some of your Orc heroes, so I hope you might be inclined to be merciful and do that for Mauhur! After all, Tolkien only says that Mauhur and his lads must have been killed or driven off, but doesn't give any certain verdict on his fate. So it seems like a perfect opportunity for you to gift him with being one of those lucky Orc heroes who lives more-or-less happily ever after ...

I litteraly fell down laughing. I was stood leaning against the kitchen counter when I read that and collapsed... I hurt my knee but it's worth it. It's like watching porn and someone catches you. XD

Really like this story. I'm curious for how the villagers treat Fedelm. Is it with pity, disdain? Is she excluded by the others? Would her father expect/assume that she's putting out for the piz'dur of and what is his reaction when he learns that she's not. Would she tell him the truth or just let him assume. Could the fact that nothing happened actually gave consequences for her aswell.

I'd love for it to be mentioned, or perhaps for our lovely orc to take interest in it in his quest towards gentleness ;)
