I'll be honest, this only got a favourite from me because of the Hogwarts and Gellert scenes. Because I have no Earthly clue what you was attempting with Amelia Bones, but it almost spoiled the entire thing for me.

Let me be clear, it's NOT that she's not the loyal Hufflepuff of fandom. It's that she's a cartoon villain dressed up to be something else. She's put across as being a black and white thinking Auror who doens't like political games, deals, or the breaking of the law. So what is it she does?

- Uses her Niece as an attack dog in Hogwarts against Harry and then blames Harry when it comes back on them.
- Tries to force Harry into a Vow that would essentially make him a weapon of the Ministry.
- Makes a legal deal with Ginny only to completely break that deal once she gets her guilty plea.
- Fully admits, is okay with, and sees nothing wrong with one of her Aurors raping a prisoner just because said prisoner is getting Kissed after. All to keep her Auror happy.

This is the stuff an Evil!Dumbledore or Fudge/Umbridge are prone to doing. These are actions by a woman who cares more about her own particular views on the world being kept real than actually doing something against the darkness. These aren't the actions of a black/white mentality cop.

Which is fine if not for the fact that's how she kept being forced against.

Another typo/error "I wanted fire to reign down" should be "I wanted fire to rain down".

It's not "provide alibies" it's "provide alibis". Just saying. . . . . .

Damm. I think only posted 2 reviews in my entire life, but this was bloody brilliant! I simply had to congratulate you. Amazing. I love your stories because they are sooo believable. I was imagining a final battle and wondering about the rewards. The ending just makes sense to me and I loved it for it. I know it won't please everyone, but mate, you've made me very happy. You seem to be inclined to write stories about a thankless community or at least thankless leaders. Not that this lacks examples in the real world, but just because these exist, I can't help wondering why you (I admit, skilfully) execute such dystopic plots. Surely the world needs a few ideas how to do better, too?

This was a really great story, but what happened after this? Was Voldemort ever killed, or what? I mean, you can't just leave this here, you have to tell what happened. Otherwise, it was the best dark Harry fanfic I have ever read.
