I think im on my third reading of this fic, i have loved it for years, one my fave sevmione fics ever. So beautifully written!

The first half was nearly perfect, and thank you for making it reasonable within the story logic. It's too often authors twist reality that much that it becomes very hard to suspend believe.
The second half for me personally was a bit weaker, I can imagine Dumbledore's portrait trying to set Snape up with someone, but if it happened even a bit differently, it would have ended up in disaster for the both if them, and Dumbledore knows Snape well enough that he would not have forgiven himself for going even one step further than the kiss. So while I can with some stretch of imagination imagine Winky going mad enough to slip them the potion without realising social consequences, but not Dumbledore. He's not a prankster, he does not do things simply for chaos and laughs.
And Snape made enough advances to suddenly start worrying about future. It would have happened a bit earlier, say right after "naked-under-dress" scene. And finally Hermione's gift. Why would she gift him a book with hundreds of fairytales? It turns a light teasing into mocking, it's not like she actually could expect him to spend the precious little free time he has on reading fairytales for weeks.
But again, sorry about talking of that more than complimenting you. As I said, the first part was very believable and well-written. The second part was very good also except for these things, again, it is obviously my personal opinion. And the good outweighs the slightly less good by much!

This is wonderfully written language-wise as well as plot-wise. Besides, it is very rare that all the characters are for the most part actually in character and evolving within the logic of their characters. Thank you!

It was a very good slow burn, it was sweet and fun, but, the realization and confession are a bit abrupt even though a lot has happened already because it lacks a detailed explanation from Severus' pov.

I mean, first, he's comparing Hermione to lily then he's saying he can't love her coz he still loves someone else, and she kept going for him -which makes her look like a cheap woman and Severus a bit full of himself, then the next moment he's saying he loves her and so Hermione got what she's WANTS. Would be really great if Severus' feelings were more explained.

at this point, I'd be happy if Hermione finds someone else!
