Reviews for Lady of the Lake |

![]() ![]() ![]() Two chapters in one day. It's like Christmas! I love the romance bit in between the plotting. Hermione is in a den of snakes who unbeknownst to them... Hate everything she stands for. She needs a bit of love in her life to keep from going insane. Great job! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Magnificent chapter. Draco seems genuinely concerned for Hermione with her looking into the money laundering at the orphanage. I hope that she can find out (safely) and remedy the situation. I am also thinking that it is going to be very interesting and shocking when we find out where/who is the cause of it. Also, (and maybe I'm over analyzing it) I was thinking that the 'vampire' comment Luna made was appropriate as a metaphor as most consider a vampire to be soul-less/heartless and that is what the Order has become. Loving this story more and more! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wonderful as always. Even though I was very excited to see Luna's entry into the merry band, I am now sides with theo, and a bit weary. I'm wondering if she really thinks actual vampires are taking over or if it's a metaphor as well as the roses. Hmmm. The fostering and orphanage aspect is quite interesting and refreshingly unique. Can't wait to see what's in store for Hermione's plan with the fetches. Who is she going after... Or rather who is she saving! Ahhh best story I'm following at the moment. Can't get enough. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I think Theo and Draco are quite right, I'm just hoping Hermione will see sense soon or else this could end really bad... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hehehe, I like Hermione's plans so far. :-) She sure is going to be a busy girl. Loved Narcissa, she's absolutely right about the accessories. Accessories can make or break an outfit. If Hermione is trying to present a certain image than she needs to pay attention to every single detail in how she dresses and carries herself. The fostering tradition is interesting. I don't think I've seen that used before. It does seem to fit with the Wizarding World traditions. That's definitely something Hermione can run with in making the Weasley's look bad. Here they are supposed to be the big lovers of all things muggle and they threw out a muggleborn they had taken in as one of their own. I'm curious to see Luna's reaction to all of this. For two people who supposedly don't like each other Draco and Hermione are sure getting cozy with one another. ;-) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ohhh I love this. I'm interested in seeing Luna's attempted induction into the inner circle and the rest of these plots to develop. This kind of story where the devious machinations of one or more characters is really the front and center is not part of my typical reading list, but you truly have a talent in fleshing out all of this political intrigue. While I, like I'm sure dozens of others, won't balk at more Dramione, I really enjoyed this chapter for the complexities of the plot(s) to come. The characters you've pulled in so far have distinct personalities that I feel I've already begun to eke out just from the modest interaction at the beginning of the chapter. I find that in your dialogue for each of them and between them, you really manage to say a lot without having to *say* a lot and I think that's possibly one of my favorite things about reading your work when you post. I'm also very much digging the pace that you're setting so far between scenes and the imaginary screen wipe I see in my head when I go from one chapter to another, it's steady and forward moving without lingering too much. One other thing - and I know I will probably have a horribly unpopular opinion on this - but I encourage you keep the T rating as long as possible (if you were ever waffling about changing it). While I love and peruse the M-Rated fiction with the best of them, I think this rating will make your writing more accessible to a wider audience and I am all about more people reading your work. I tend towards writing more M-Rated fiction myself, but I think there is also a lot to be said about you with still being able to convey yourself and your story without the extra allowances of more profanity and explicit scenes. I encourage you to continue on as you are and greatly look forward to your next chapter to see what wicked things everyone is up to! Cheers! -Slik |
![]() ![]() ![]() Best part of this chapter? Hearing Pansy address Hermione as "My Lady." Hands down. A scheming Hermione is the best Hermione. She is so utterly calm and collected. She knows what she wants, and knows how to go about getting it. I am interested in seeing how Luna will play with the Slytherins. Juicy story, even if it was missing some Dramione action. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Every chapter of this story just keeps me at the edge of my seat! All the plots and twists are complex but you make it a dream to follow. I can only hope that there will be LOTS of humiliation for Ron and the rest of the Weasleys as well as plenty for Potter. I like how Hermione's meeting went with the inner circle and how quickly most of them (poor Greg) caught on at how to build on the truth to push Hermione & Draco's agenda forward. Absolutely freaking brilliant! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love Narcissa's character and how you portray the purebloode society. Yes, they have some ideals that might not agree with those of others (namely the one regarding muggleborns - I mean wizards would have gone extinct by now if they hadn't married Muggles) but they care for their family, each other and even for those who're working for them. It's much much more than what the Order can say for itself... Can't wait for the next chapter :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Woop woop :D I personally just can't wait for Hermione to reveal to certain purebloods that she's the knew Dark Power. :D |
![]() ![]() (Sneer) The weasel couldn't get it up, period. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Something tells me Harry isn't going to be willing to walk Hermione down the aisle. When push came to shove Harry always did seem to want to side with Ron more than Hermione. Either that or he did everything in his power to stay in the middle. But in truth him and Ron were friends longer than him and Hermione. Hermione always seemed to be the odd one out. She never truly seemed to fit in with the trio. I honestly, always pictured her drifting away from the other two after Hogwarts. Hmm, maybe she'll be mad enough at Harry now to let Draco have a go at him? ;-) Loved your characterization of Hermione and Molly's relationship. That is exactly how I see it. I never got the sense that Molly saw Hermione as a surrogate daughter like so many writers and readers do. Yes, she was motherly toward Harry and yes Harry was accepted into the family as a son. But the way Molly talked about Hermione in 4th year made me think Molly really didn't care about her. At least not in the same way she did Harry. I'm betting that Narcissa picked up on Draco's little game. I can't wait to see how the meeting between Hermione and Narcissa goes. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Finally, I have been able to read this. I shouldn't be getting into another in-progress multi-chaptered fic, but I love the idea of a dark Hermione. It's a scenario that I've wanted to write, myself, for a while and love that one of my favorite authors here has taken up the mantle for such a story! The whole lot of them would've been absolutely SOL without her and I adore the fact that you're pulling from this post-war scenario highlighting as much. I'm very excited to see where you take everything and look forward to your next update. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe Hermione doesn't want to hurt Harry, but surely there's nothing wrong with a little humiliation? It certainly seems like he's been corrupted by complacency. I'm sure that between Hermione and Draco, they can devise retribution that is suitably vindictive and appropriately subtle. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Sure, it's not at all nuts. But, then again, if you're nuts, how would you know whether or not you aren't. Draco must have had lots of practice manipulating people. He did an excellent job of it on his mother. I can't decide if she realizes what he's up to or just bought into the faux-muggleborn campaign. I'm leaning toward the latter. Hermione has always had some Slytherin tendencies. Harry better watch it! If he doesn't change his really low E.Q. (heck! throw in I.Q. too), he may end up ground beneath her Louboutin dragonhide stilettos. Looking forward to the media campaign. Another great chapter here. |
