Reviews for Book 7: The Sacred Mountain
Fiarillo chapter 40 . 3/17
This felt like reading the books. I was ok without the extensive travelogues and repititions of The Mother prayer. You gave me the closure I needed.

Andy -
I'm glad to have this easy opportunity to say a sincere thanks to you for giving us this marvellous extension to the wonderful 'Earth's Children' series which many feel was cut off in its prime.
I feel you fully achieved what you set out in your Afterward/Afterword section, especially as far as presenting well-developed characters faithfully continued from the earlier books - vital, when we already know and love them so well. I agree with your decisions regarding how to tell the story, and I noted with appreciation how you related the continuing love between Ayla and Jondalar without the overly-detailed and tediously repetitive scenes of their amorous acvtivities.
Dare I say it? - I wonder whether Book 7 ends where Book 8 might begin . . . ? New children . . . new wolf/dog developments . . . new North / South Zelandoni / Chimu relationships . . . further 'Others' - Clan developments . . . ? Okay, just greed on my part.
I do wish there was a published printed paper version I could buy. I dread that I'll go for a re-read sometime, only to discover your wonderful book has been removed from the internet.
Once again, my sincere thanks, Andy. All the way from Paisley, Scotland.
God bless.

This is as good as the first six books. So far, at least. I hope it will be finished. I would very much like to read all of it.

Amazing. True to the voice and feel of the series and I loved the plot and character development. Very well done. You should be proud.
Sharon Houston chapter 40 . 7/22/2022
I really enjoyed your story, now we need book eight.
Sande71 chapter 40 . 7/19/2022
A wonderful continuation of Ayla’s story. Thank you for not making Ayla the protagonist for her forward thinking and changes in their belief systems.
Here’s hoping that Durc, Jonayla and Durcan get to have their story told.

Enjoyed the story very much. I have read and reread all the books in the series and greatly liked your extending them. Hope you do more. A new fan, Rich Miller
FARIS KEELING chapter 40 . 7/7/2022
All 40 chapters have been well-written! Faithful to the style, tone, and characters of the series. I finished "Land of Painted Caves" wanting more-and especially wanting further evolution or resolution of some of the issues. "The Sacred Mountain" provided that extremely well. A very satisfying read!
Stuart Watt chapter 40 . 7/2/2022
Fantastic follow-on from Shelters ... Wonderfully consistent with the Jean Auel's settings and characters, and un-put-downable. Well done. However, through the Painted Caves, the story has progressed. Andy, if you could imagine Ayla as she develops fully into Zelandonii who is First, and particularly after she interacts with the Clan to the north and with the Mog-urs as they become aware she is the Woman who Hunts, that tale would be well worth telling. Hope to read more of your compelling stories.
Melanie Keenan chapter 40 . 6/25/2022
It took me a long time to decide to read this since Jean M Auel didn't write it. Curiosity and wanting questions answered, I finally gave in and read it. I was happily surprised. It always saddened me when one of the books came to an end, and this one was no different. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I honestly wish the series would never end. It is and has always been my favorite. I have read it numerous times and will continue to do so, now including this book. Thank you so much for writing it and keeping it, I believe, as Jean would have - a truly wonderful story.

This was awesome!

I did not expect it to be so long, and your story drew me in from the first chapter. I've read some fanfiction, most of it pretty bad, so I wasn't expecting much when I heard about this on reddit. I had already tried getting into some other similar book series but none come close to Jean Auel's storytelling.

I cried through much of this, as it was so wonderful to hear from "old friends" again after so many years.

I started reading this series when it first came out, when I was 13 years old, and still have all but one of the original books, although they are dog-eared and stained. The one I don't have, the spine finally broke and the pages fell out so I did wind up replacing it, because I read them at least once a year. I usually just start from Shelters of Stone because she pretty much retells the whole story in that one, but every now and then I read it from the beginning.

I only wish this was published on paper somewhere, so that I could add it to my other books in the series and start all over again now.

Well done!

excellent, fast paced and pairs extremely well with Jean Auel’s story line
The Sacred Mount chapter 1 . 6/15/2022
Thank you for contributing your version of the series. I enjoyed reading, and getting back into more mature versions of the characters. I was hoping for more Jondalar, since he seems to me to be Ayla's other half. I thoroughly enjoyed the story about why the ocean is salty! Best,
