The story is so hilariously retarded and stuffed with so much bs, fake nonsense, and made up shit that it's actually a good and entertaining read. The Hyuuga ancestor's story was some straight up murim or cultivator shit and the Byakugan awakening ceremony is just straight up retarded. Like wtf, the byakugan awakens like the sharingan, there's no ceremony needed. It caught me off guard so much that I'm quite interested at what other surprises that are changed from canon.
