Well, while this story wasn't great it was fairly okay read so far. At least until this chapter. You've made Hermoine into a huge hypocrite in this chapter and as it seems she'll be a love interest/major character in the story I've no desire to read further. Nothing she says or does can be taken very seriously anymore. She rants and raves about discrimination and how archaic magical laws are but in this chapter she doesn't care because it's something that benefits her. I mean, after hearing about some law that discriminates against muggles, in this case not having a say in their children's magical education, would supposedly be something that would set Hermoine off on a rant and get her on to her soapbox. Of course though it's something she's perfectly okay with in this case. It makes her come across as a very disgusting person to be honest.

Oh, and another point. Why did her parents believe it to be veritaserum? They had no way to know other than their word about it. It would make more sense if they used a bit on one of the parents so they would know the effects for themselves. Otherwise I don't see why they'd just believe so easily on their word alone when they are not willing to believe about the basilisk with just their word.

Come on u can leave me hanging. Your story is intriguing n i would like to read how it ends

A very enjoyable story. I love detail to staying true to the character's personalities. especially Dumbledore. The stories depiction of Dumbledore is by far one of my favorites.

Decent chapter and a good story overall. I just wish you didn't have Harry mock his enemies with immature nicknames, especially Voldemort. I have seen that in a lot of stories and its honestly a pet peeve. I hope he looses that habit.

Just a thought: would it be possible to give Aragog and his children another (more positive) appearance in the future of this story? (Because as they are now they are a threat to the school once Aragog dies...) I ask because Aragog seems to be a rather nice and friendly guy (for a giant flesh eating spider at the least) just look at his loyalty to Hagrid, and it isn't hard for me to imagine him wanting to thank Harry for helping Hagrid and killing the Basilisk (as long as there is enough to eat for them); that and the thought of several intelligent giant Spiders watching Hogwarts borders is just awesome :)
It would be awesome if Harry would have some interactions with non-humans like Goblins, Centaurs, etc. in the future :)
