| GHAPDY chapter 11 . 5/29/2016
Oh my god, this was so beautifully written. It is now 3am, which is a glaring testament as to how hooked I was in this masterfully woven fanfiction! Amazing job portraying Maglor, Maedhros, Elros, and Elrond! I just-I can't even describe just how intensely I enjoyed this (and the little trivia: never new Maglor was married). I always find myself hoping Maglor did get to Valinor-but alas, Tolkien had a love for leaving things open-ended it seems (which is awesome for us fans!). Anyways, great job!

Varda! Manwe! Ulmo! WHY DID I READ THIS DAMMED FIC?
*bursts into tears*
*takes shuddering breath*
Sorry about that. But, really, sweet Elbereth Makalaure, why did you have to write this?

Wow...powerfully written and well done. Favorited!
| Laerthel chapter 11 . 2/14/2015
Okay, you got me. This is clearly one of the best fanfictions I've read so far. Absolutely captivating, detailed and unique... and the characters are so alive I almost hear them breathing. (That chess scene with Maedhros!) Incredible. Thank you for the experience!

I am literally dead. This is officially my favorite piece of Silmarillion fanfiction. You are amazingly able to capture Elrond's voice and feelings, while still keeping everyone else so in character that it's scary. It seems that many people mis-characterize Maedhros as cruel or overly harsh, but I think you captured him perfectly. Cool and composed, but with a fiery heart that comes out every once in a while. I could write an essay about this story, but I'll stop now for everyone's sake. You're amazing. :)

This is really beautiful. You're amazing at this. Lots of props
| fish in fridge chapter 11 . 11/15/2014
I really like the tone of your last chapter, soft and well-paced, with a little bit rambling, just like an old man writing his memoir, or retelling his lifestory by the fire. Save that Elrond is now an "old" elf. And one can easily tell his change over years through the recount of this final chapter: he tried over and over to convince his brother to choose the fate of Elves when he was younger, but didn't think he even had the right to step into his children's choices as he became millenia old. This is really well-done! (By the way, I personally believe Celeborn will bring the twins to the West :) )
And the ending, that really shatters my heart. Especially for someone like me who truly believe that Maglor is canonically doomed to wander the Mortal lands till the End and any possibility of his return to Elvenhome within Time exists only in AU...
And in the end, a big thank-you for writing such a beautiful story. This is really, really my favourite fanfic on Maedhros, Maglor, Elros, Elrond time!

This has been quite a story! I take it that it's finished now? You might want to change its status to "complete," if it is.
| kim-onka chapter 11 . 11/12/2014
It's touching, and kind of sad, to imagine that Elrond chose the fate of the Elves in the hope that he might see the Feanorians again... and the way he clung to the memories of them through all his long life, to the point that Tirion reminds him of Amon Ereb and after he glosses over his reunion with his parents, he reveals that he is in Nerdanel's house. It shows that the years he spent with the brothers truly shaped him.
This is a really impressive account of Elrond's relationship with the Feanorians, one of the best I've read (one of top two in fact). Thank you for writing it, and for reposting it here :)
| Guest chapter 11 . 11/11/2014
Omg this is so sad and beautiful! This is so far one of the best versions I've seen, you really depicted Elrond well and the ending...oh dear the ending is so heartbreaking! Especially the part when Elrond tried to convince Elros to remain Elven kind and the part that Elrond tried to find Maglor.
| Qeani chapter 11 . 11/11/2014
This has been one of my favorite versions of Elrond's childhood with the Fëanorians. It was well written, and just an all around good story. I do hope that you'll write a sequel to this, it would be fantastic! Good job on a good story!

I am like starting to cry right now...
This story was wonderful and very emotional...
| kim-onka chapter 10 . 11/11/2014
This is all so heart-wrenching - Elrond's worry for the injured Maglor, his watch together with Maedhros, his misery upon having to leave Amon Ereb, the last moments spent with Maglor, the true reason Maglor took the twins in and his honest love for them. Very poignant, and very beautiful.
It's very telling that it's Maedhros, initially opposed to the twins getting too comfortable in the Feanorian fortress, who at first forbids Maglor from sending them away - and Maglor, the one who took them in, is the one to come up with this idea. It's close to the image I have of them.
Wasn't there, in this fic before you deleted it before, something about Elrond asking Maglor about his wife, the night before they leave? I think this thread is very interesting, this jealousy of the fact that Maglor had had a previous life that Elrond never knew about makes a strong emotional impression.
The farewell scene is really powerful, and gives a tangible sense of an ending. Great.

I fell in love with this story before and I find myself falling in love with it again. Thank you for such a beautiful tale. One question though; I did not understand the part of Maedhros and Maglor in his room, where Elrond spies on them. Can you explain it to me?
| SaphiralovesTolkien chapter 10 . 11/7/2014
They are being sent to Cirdan and Gil-galad...aye Elbereth...
after spending your whole childhood in the same place, it will be hard to live in a strange place...especially with the High King and the Lord of the Grey Havens...
might be some slight tension...
write more soon!
LOVE this story!
