wow, it takes serious talent to turn haircuts into an adorable fic! And your lessons of hobbit social rules fit in there perfectly. I love how they live by the rules, but also don't at times (interacting with Sam, for example). And the fact NOBODY wants Pippin to have the scissors:D

I think JRRT never goes into enough detail about Boromir and other Men's reaction to the hobbits. So joyful, when Men have been in a warrior mindset for generations. Even waking one up is different! Thanks for writing this!

The Hobbits' reaction to grief reminds me of the funerals I've been to with my church family. Other denominations hold funerals, with speeches and rituals and tears, and we have all of that too, but more than anything, Quaker funerals, at least in my Yearly Meeting, are a celebration of life. It goes very well towards helping the healing process, gathering for a meal to talk and laugh, and remember our loved ones with joy, and look forward to seeing them again.

And now I want to hug everyone in the Fellowship.

I just realized how inbred hobbits are, particularly the Tooks and Brandybucks... No wonder they're getting to be a little bit crazy.

Earlier today, I was talking to a friend about favorite fanfics. Though I hadn't read this since shortly after its final update, I immediately listed "The Care and Feeding of Hobbits" as a top choice. And then it struck me just how *long* it had been since I'd read this fic, and I simply had to reread it for old time's sake.

This may be a new fanfiction account, but I remember getting the email for your last update way back when. Nearly a decade ago, it seems. And yet it's still one of my favorite fics.

So I just wanted to say thank you. It really means something if you can write a story so moving that it lodges in someone's memory for a full decade. I don't know whether you still read your reviews, but I'm grateful that this fic is still here to reminisce over. Thank you.
