Reviews for Better Off Forgotten |

![]() ![]() ![]() What an amazing work indeed! I was highly skeptical at first, due to the fact that your writing was a bit confusing, but it seems like it improved over the chapters and I'm happy I pushed past it and continued reading! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have some difficulties with the credibility of the 1st chapter and this new law: the explanation is odd and a bit dubbious IMO. But I'll keep on reading for now |
![]() ![]() ![]() Cho is the GOAT |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hermione is a fucking moron in this story. |
![]() ![]() pice of shit like all other stories with this pairing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for a powerful and ultimately enjoyable read! I found this story from a recommendation at "15 Harry Potter Fanfics for the Grown-up Newbie" on Bookriot dot com, and am very glad I followed the link here. Very well done! |
![]() ![]() I was really disappointed with how you chose to explore Draco's evolution to becoming a better person, but not Hermione's emotional journey after realizing she had been targeted, manipulated, drugged, lied to, gaslit, used for degrading sex, and harmed and almost killed by being used to breed a male child. Him acting out his own abusive fantasies instead of having sex that Hermione would not be humiliated by remembering, him removing all choice from her life, these are life-altering betrayals that would take years to work through. You imply that Draco deserves to be not only forgiven, but given access to someone he absolutely violated. Cho's abusers faces prison, but Draco has no consequences for casting unforgivable curses and repeatedly altering Hermione's memories. He kept her as a sex toy and bred her like an animal. By not showing us any of the emotional impact on Hermione, but focusing on the emotional journey of Draco, you imply that his feelings matter more than hers. By giving Draco no consequences for his very, very abusive behavior and then setting him up as redeemed, you are excusing a predatory level of abuse as romance. By treating Cho's rape as a crime and Hermione's being kept in a submissive state with memory modification, drugs, lies, and forced pregnancy as not a crime, you seem to be condoning abuse. I read this entire story in 3 days believing that I would get to see Hermione come back to herself and hold those who harmed her accountable, but you never even gave her a scene in which she talks to Draco about what he's done. Not a single scene. Not to mention Kingsley, Luscious, and Narcissa who have decided amongst themselves to sacrifice the body of an adult woman who had just saved all their lives. Lots of ick. None of the justice for our heroine. |
